My mom decided she wanted to go somewhere warm for a while and since my dad doesn't like to fly very much, she took me! We chose the Dreams Puerto Vallarta resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We got to the airport at 4:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. It was early and a long day of traveling, but worth it! The plane rides didn't seem too long, but long enough! When we first got into the airport in Puerto Vallarta, after going through customs, the first thing they did was give us a shot of tequila! Haha! It was a small flavored shot. Mom had guava and I had pomegranate. It was good and they were trying to get us to take another, but we refused. No need to be drunk right away haha! We found our scheduled ride to our hotel. The road system in downtown Puerto Vallarta is scary! There are hardly any stop lights or stop signs and no lanes. Almost every street is one way and all the drivers just merge and rumble along. It's a bit freaky and I spent most of my time in the cabs (to and from the resort) watching out the window so as not to hyperventilate! The resort was wonderful! The view from our room was amazing! We had just enough of a palm tree in our view to make it nice and tropical without blocking the beautiful sunsets and ocean.<br />
<br />
The food on this trip was amazing!! We ate outside the resort and restaurants twice and both times we were not disappointed! We ate at a place called Coexistence the first time we went into town for the flew markets, and the second time at a place called Oscar's. They were both great food and really nice people. Even the food in the resort was amazing! Our favorite place was the Seaside Cafe. The fajitas were incredible! I had them twice! The other really good restaurant in the resort was the fancy dress up one. We ate there twice and both had the same thing each time because it was so good! The only times we didn't have the best food were the night they set up a huge buffet out on the beach because it was so dark you could hardly tell what you were getting and by the time you went through and got back to your table the food was mostly cold, and then the lunch we had the day we went on the day trip, which mom ended up not even eating cause she got seasick. But other than that I was so happy the food was almost always good!!<br />
<br />
In the resort we did a lot of just laying around! Haha! We spent a lot of the time on the beach area which was nice....yet not. They had people walking around the beach selling things. We finally came to the conclusion that they are hired by the resort (from what we can tell) to sell things to people on the beach to make more money. It got a bit annoying after a while, but if you said no they would pretty much leave you alone right away. We did lay by the infinity pool one day and then spent another part of one day in the pool with the swim-up bar. But for the most part we wanted the sand between our toes. :) They did always have something for entertainment during the evenings, though it wasn't always something good.... One night was a hypnotist which wasn't so bad. A lot like what I've seen around Bismarck, but since it was kid friendly it wasn't anything sexually orientated or anything, but he was funny. Another night was the Mexican Fiesta which was the night we ate on the beach and they had a mariachi band playing and some Spanish dancing. It was ok, but the band was way better than the dancers! Another night was comedy night but we never made it to that cause we just wanted to lay in bed and watch movies. Another night was casino night (the last night we were there) and we played Texas Hold'em. Mom ended up winning! It was hard to play though because they were playing as if it were a cash game and not playing with the "proper" rules and stuff and it was hard for us to bite our tongues and not speak up to have the game played correctly...but we still had fun! During the day there were lots of different things we could have tried to partake in, but we mostly just wanted to relax while we were in the resort. We did use the gym a couple times (but it was so incredibly hot and stuffy in there it was hard to work out!) and we always went into the little coffee shop each morning to have a cup of coffee. We did get to see one iguana while in the resort! He was walking around in the Seaside Cafe while we were having lunch one day! We also got to sea a humpback whale! We were laying out on the beach in the evening (about 5:30) and could sea a group of whales moving slowly and got to see one jump out of the water! It was so cool!<br />
<br />
Out of the resort we went to the flea market twice. The flea market was a lot of fun...but annoying as well!! There were so many shops and they were all smack dab right next to each other so you couldn't tell where one ended and the other began and each and every single shop owner would try to get you to buy things. They wouldn't just ask if you needed help, they would almost badger you about buying something. "What you looking for? Best prices for you. Almost free today. Look around ladies. Lots of nice things; blankets, dresses. " It got annoying really fast....and most of the shops had the same things over and over. Granted some of them were really cool things because they weren't things you normally see around North Dakota...but they were for the most part all the same... We even had to walk across a suspension bridge a couple times to get to another part of the flea market. It was the worst bridge ever!! If I had been drunk, I never would have made it across! Hahaha! It was so difficult to walk across and keep your balance! The boardwalk that was right by the flea market was fun to see because it had so many different sculptures and such on it. Mostly by the same artist. We got to see their cathedral as well which everyone mentioned a lot.<br />
<br />
The other thing we did outside the resort was one day trip. We chose on that went to Majahuitas and Yelapa. The day started off ok, we got to the port and right away though there were people trying to get money from you...they had a sea lion you could take photos with and then two guys walking around with a parrot taking photos with you. They of course would just print out the photos and wanted you to buy them when you got back. I did end up buying the one with the sea lion just because it was something I know I'll never do again. I got to hug him and he kissed my cheek, haha! It was pretty cute! I just hope the animals get treated ok when not in the public eye....Once we got on the boat they did a bit of a guided tour along the shoreline as we went to Majahuitas. Mom and I both ended up seasick...we weren't aware we were supposed to come in our suits and had just brought them with us so we had to change while the boat was going over waves in the tiny bathroom on the catamaran....mom got really seasick and I got it a little bit. Once we got to Majahuitas we just stayed in the bay so we couldn't even get on land for a little bit. You could snorkel or kayak in the bay but neither of us did. Mom still didn't feel good and my water fears kicked in and people said they weren't seeing anything anyway because the water was so unclear because of the weather changing. After an hour there we went to Yelapa. This was actually cool because we hiked through this little town that only got electricity 8 years ago! It was interesting to go through and see how people lived there. We passed one guy who made gorgeous things out of rosewood but of course because it was rosewood it was really expensive. Once we got to the top there was a waterfall! It was so cool! It wasn't huge by any means but it was really cool and we got to go in the little pool and wade over to it if we wanted! I figured I wasn't sure when I would get to do it again so I did! The water was so cold!! It took my breath away but I got to go under the waterfall and my mom took a couple photos for me. It was such a rush!! Mostly cause the water was so cold, but it was the first waterfall I had ever been in! I loved it!! Then after that we hiked back down and through a different part of the village and saw their grocery store (which was crazy!) and their church. We kept going until we got to a river. It wasn't very wide, but we ended up have to wade across it to get back to the beach where the boat was going to be. I thought they were joking!!! But they weren't! It never went higher than our belly buttons, but it was a bit freaky for me with my water fears! We got down to our swimsuits to keep our clothes dry so I didn't have my shoes on and started panicking at the end a little bit but mom talked me through it and I was ok. Still freaky and crazy though!!! Then we got to the beach on Yelapa and were there for about 45 minutes before heading back onto the boat. On the beach there were two guys walking around with these huge iguanas! They were about 6-7 feet long including their tails! You could take pictures with them with your camera if you wanted, but you had to pay them $5 to do it. I got a picture of the iguana on the beach and that was good enough for me. Mom was a bit freaked out by them! Haha! Once we got back on the boat things were much smoother on the way back so we were both ok. And the crew put on a hilarious show towards the end of the ride! The photos are hilarious and I got a couple videos!!!<br />
On the way there we saw dolphins swimming just a few feet away, on the beach we saw a sea turtle jump out of the water from a wave, then on the way back I saw a sea turtle swimming in the water by the boat! It was pretty cool!!<br />
The crew was amazing! All of them at least once if not twice checked on my mom to make sure she was ok and still enjoying herself! They were awesome!<br />
<br />
We ended up just having one of the best vacations we have ever had! We have both had great vacations, but this one was just perfect! We got the right amount of time in the resort and away from it. We had amazing food practically the entire time! The weather was great! And it was nice to not get sick of each other and be away from the normal drama and stress in day to day lives. We were actually sad to leave and it was really bittersweet to come home.<br />
<br />
The only thing I would have changed was the ocean. It was great to be by it, but according to my mom it is much calmer on the other side of Mexico. The waves were so rough by our resort that at night it sounded like a blizzard or huge wind storm, so we didn't get the best sleep while we were there. It was also pretty fishy smelling. Not the worst thing for the vacation, but not the best either. It was truly a fantastic vacation! I wish I could have brought the weather back with me! It makes me even more excited for summer!!!<br />
<br />
The trip home seemed longer than the trip there, but as soon as we got to MN we got a "normal" beer haha! It was so good to have a bud light again (even if it didn't have clamato! Haha!). And it was good to be home. Back to my bed and the familiar things around me. Vacation is always fun, but it's always good to be home!FairWrenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06493576900639956466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726886473285856161.post-26967375338032963202012-08-15T14:03:00.000-05:002012-08-15T14:03:00.337-05:00Summer Slipping AwayThis summer has been....well it's just been crazy!!! Having my photography business up and running has definitely kept me on my toes and shown me exactly how crazy my life may be if I keep this up! But it's kind of great! I have taken some really fun photos and it is something that I truly enjoy...yes...photoshop is currently the bane of my existence....but that's a side note ;P<br />
<br />
I have been absolutely just photo editing my life away lately! But it's so worth it! I have one wedding left to edit, then another wedding I'm shooting at the end of August, then photos I took for fun that I still need to edit!! Holy photos!! Definitely got some really fun and amazing photos though!!! And a big thank you to all those who let me take photos of their big day and such!<br />
<br />
The work out bug has kicked me in the ass again. I have been jogging for two whole days in a row!! I know, such an accomplishment! Hahahah!!! I knew it would be like this. It has been for quite some time. I get a huge workout bug, go at it great for a couple weeks, then poop out. And right now, I'm back at it. This time though I went and bought a new pair of shoes and some new work out clothes! I'm thinking this may help me to kick my butt into gear cause if I get to wear cute clothes to do it, why not work out, right?! Haha! Hey, if it helps me stay on a work out schedule, I'm all for it!! :P<br />
<br />
Summer is pretty much over, which is kind of sad, but fall is my favorite season!! :D I will be starting co-ed softball in September (hopefully practicing before a lot!) so that will take up some of my time but should be fun! Last year was my first year so I'm hoping this year I do a bit better haha!<br />
<br />
With winter coming, my main goal is to keep up with a work out schedule and CRAFT, DIY, CRAFT, DIY!!!! I have been Pinterest-ing like crazy and can't wait to try some of the fun crafts and DIY projects I have pinned!! I've tried a few things and have loved them so far! So fingers crossed!!<br />
<br />
Also with my new found motivation for working out, I'm thinking about switching gyms. I have been at Anytime Fitness for a few years now and it's not horrible for being $30 a month, but the months that I don't use it I just feel so...blah and like I just flushed my money away. I like the gym....and it's great that its in Mandan....but I would LOVE to do some classes and they don't offer any at all!! I really want to try a kickboxing class, body pump class, yoga class and of course a zumba class!! So I'm thinking about going to Gold's Gym which would suck because they are in Bismarck, but they have classes and if that's something I'm really wanting to try I think it would be worth it. Plus they have a special going on right now so it would be a great time to switch! So I'm going to be checking that out here really soon! Who knows! I would love to go to the YMCA so I could go swimming....but their memberships start at $40 and go up from there and I really don't want to spend more on a gym membership especially if there are months where I barely us it or not at all no matter how much I'm trying to change that....<br />
<br />
Here's to hoping fall brings as much love and joy as summer did and hoping for a wonderful rest of the year!!!<br />
<br />
Much love to you all!!!<br />
XOXO<br />

It's amazing how rare Drew and I go grocery shopping just because it's not something that's at the forefront of my mind and we rarely have time to actually take a full on trip to the grocery store!<br />
I finally got something else figured out for my attempt at eating healthier all the time. For the most part I have a hard time with eating meals because I'm usually so on the go that I don't have the time to make anything, so I have come up with a couple things that are great for on the go! These are things that most people already know and all that good stuff, but that I'm trying for the first time.<br />
<br />
I was really wanting to find a good recipe for a homemade granola bar type of thing that wasn't overly packed with sugar and/or sodium or anything. It seems like almost no matter what all types of granola bars are either over packed with those, or don't taste good to me. (I really don't like any sort of almonds or peanuts or anything and most of the "healthy" ones usually have something like that in them) I never really found a good recipe, so I decided to make my own chex mix instead. I did 4 basic ingredients: corn chex mix (the cheap version), cheerioes (again, the cheap version), fat free pretzel sticks and raisins.<br />
I have a hard time when chex mix gets over salty or something because the saltiness of peanuts or something gets all over the rest of the ingredients and it just tastes gross to me. With the things I picked they all tend to not get all jumbled together and works better for me. I know that's being extremely picky, but hey, I'm the one that has to eat it.<br />
<br />
The other thing I figured out (which shouldn't have been so hard to think of) is pre-making salads. I don't mean the whole thing, but I like to use lettuce and spinach when I make a salad but hate the process of tearing up the lettuce (since I buy a head of lettuce, not a bag) and such, so I started putting them in ziploc bags together so I can just grab one of the bags when I want to make a salad. (Yes, I am that lazy and sometimes just that on the go that I don't have time to do this at the moment) Since I just started doing that I'm not really sure how long a bag will last before getting gross, but I'm guessing at least 5 days. Hopefully!<br />
<br />
I also picked up a bunch of more fruits and veggies and got them all washed and prepared and put into separate containers and ziploc bags to make them more grab-able for me. Hopefully that helps keep me on track!!<br />
<br />
It also sucks lately that I haven't had time to do my work outs I was doing. Since I get off work at 5 and usually have rehearsal right now at 6 until around 8:30-9 it doesn't leave much time to do a workout. Busy busy busy busy busy!!!!<br />
<br />
The photography thing has been going well though!! So far I have two weddings photographed and have my 3rd one this weekend! Then some other stuff coming up later in the summer. Now all I have to do is sit my butt down at get some editing done! Learning photoshop is no easy task!!!<br />
<br />
Hoping everyone is doing well!<br />
Much love,<br />

I just can't seem to get enough and I'm not quite sure why!! So after seeing this shower curtain on eBay:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibLzoU67lXGQxzVvBpAfNU9oidYnmbjaJwPKoaS3yhYPNnJMUavaNvbifMqdPl4bGsuUd3ZjSuMTSYQgweNLRYnwZilp6rAvvqmmlI0sAc-ESt3S851UYGqSdmw9PPSLbeMW4-XG2B4Go_/s1600/$(KGrHqFHJCUE-fWmI2TSBPn4,qGIgQ~~60_35.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibLzoU67lXGQxzVvBpAfNU9oidYnmbjaJwPKoaS3yhYPNnJMUavaNvbifMqdPl4bGsuUd3ZjSuMTSYQgweNLRYnwZilp6rAvvqmmlI0sAc-ESt3S851UYGqSdmw9PPSLbeMW4-XG2B4Go_/s1600/$(KGrHqFHJCUE-fWmI2TSBPn4,qGIgQ~~60_35.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I knew I just had to do this!! I started searching for photos of nautical pin-up girls and one of them I found was this one:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ9IpMa6oroTaQ3Y9YUVlKXzrRhcogUw3fzwMvD_rPDoaS2W9E8LsgFGNBovYAC5WZMQeoOW-HD_-oECdSqs7Kohsy91i5AVV0B-hXzZKg5oc5EpLHi70Y8WXZwUozr864XpmdsSnxty4x/s1600/17.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ9IpMa6oroTaQ3Y9YUVlKXzrRhcogUw3fzwMvD_rPDoaS2W9E8LsgFGNBovYAC5WZMQeoOW-HD_-oECdSqs7Kohsy91i5AVV0B-hXzZKg5oc5EpLHi70Y8WXZwUozr864XpmdsSnxty4x/s320/17.jpg" width="226" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Which is where I got the inspiration for the sign. This sign was the first thing (besides the shower curtain) I decided on and made for the decor change. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAmG4G1I6U3UTkWQY2S-2khGcwxf0_r0tRdj7EmxTV24ZzPND_qE-vS-pcUOGYBm_Sj1_rYhgCXmM1Mqzz3X-ukzgM4Rg0reYHs7SB4ur7ZJy360i2OPNtJO8fvcGRw8UlgfCP3aukG5fe/s1600/401818_10151026626756438_1113063887_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAmG4G1I6U3UTkWQY2S-2khGcwxf0_r0tRdj7EmxTV24ZzPND_qE-vS-pcUOGYBm_Sj1_rYhgCXmM1Mqzz3X-ukzgM4Rg0reYHs7SB4ur7ZJy360i2OPNtJO8fvcGRw8UlgfCP3aukG5fe/s320/401818_10151026626756438_1113063887_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'm still shocked at how well this turned out for me since I made it. Usually the ideas I have for projects are amazing in my head and then just flop while I'm doing it or just don't look right at all, but I LOVE this one!!! I'll be posting a tutorial of it soon!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">(For pricing guide, the letters were $0.99 a piece but were on sale when I bought them so I get them all for $6.53, the paint was $0.99 a piece and the twine was $1.47 but I got it on sale for $0.73 and the mounting squares I used to attach it to the wall were $1.00 for the pack from the dollar store)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I tried as hard as possible to spend as little as possible with this re-do. Especially since I have been trying to decorate my house and the one room that was completely done is the one room I made a specific theme for and re-did....yup.....of course that would happen...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">But all in all (as of right now and I'm pretty much done unless I find something else I "have" to have) I spent $130....a bit steeper than I wanted to spend, but....oh well....a couple of the things I already had (just a couple) so I didn't spend the money for them at this time....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Starting from where you first walk in:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTcs9z6kSXmWDSQ3DVP20KM_eDWZEIw1O8mDc1-mjgjRyl0VDwWWMVmTOy3Sqz8BGj57OG4kigJ-Bm0Xkda1PnUHVxCOSSoomiz1hQs1hfwMqrhLNoQuHTlFASrh_o_zKzJj2m51JAcc_H/s1600/IMG_1493.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTcs9z6kSXmWDSQ3DVP20KM_eDWZEIw1O8mDc1-mjgjRyl0VDwWWMVmTOy3Sqz8BGj57OG4kigJ-Bm0Xkda1PnUHVxCOSSoomiz1hQs1hfwMqrhLNoQuHTlFASrh_o_zKzJj2m51JAcc_H/s320/IMG_1493.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I bought this captain's wheel at Hobby Lobby. I wanted to do quite a few DIY projects to try to keep the cost down, but this was one I just bought. It was originally $19.99 but it was half off. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq9m398RGPLKY_p3ISFcdbln1xGLNpni0SoYHydI3zhHk5W9gksZs_nam-Ejomg8NflHYZTXPDvhyM3duDhD8Tw7hjnpbNE8tAPtraz38YThc0RboXkNc7RKRRSObp3AHgnDmYTVBVaMd3/s1600/IMG_2344%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq9m398RGPLKY_p3ISFcdbln1xGLNpni0SoYHydI3zhHk5W9gksZs_nam-Ejomg8NflHYZTXPDvhyM3duDhD8Tw7hjnpbNE8tAPtraz38YThc0RboXkNc7RKRRSObp3AHgnDmYTVBVaMd3/s320/IMG_2344%5B1%5D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is the corner of the counter by the door. The thing everything is sitting on is one of those wicker place mats that's blue. I found it at a thrift store quite a while back for $0.25. The blue vase I found at another thrift store for $2. The two clear vases I already had from my previous decor in the bathroom but were only $1.00 each at Wal-Mart. In them I took some twine ($.073 at Hobby Lobby and the same stuff I used on the Hello Sailor sign) and dropped it into the vases. I just fed it in and let it all coil up as it went into the vase. Then I took another piece of the twine and tied a small charm around each, a sparrow on the shorter one and a skeleton key on the taller one. The white balls are actually cat toys I found at Pet Smart for $0.99 a piece. They have a little bell in it but thank goodness they don't make noise while sitting there! The other two tan balls I found at the thrift store for $0.25 a piece. Here's a closer look at the two clear vases.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKxj3FWLpLQxKzWRLrLF8zWctqLjkfbrA01KyPX79zuCGi6qUPXZLXbs5ZzFzG2cy55iFQFRaabwY3PbkvOKCcVI-iP7rbcYWZLAWR_9kgcfvwl-Dp7LnPndPTCO5VPqC6LYvXGNm4dRpE/s1600/IMG_1520.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKxj3FWLpLQxKzWRLrLF8zWctqLjkfbrA01KyPX79zuCGi6qUPXZLXbs5ZzFzG2cy55iFQFRaabwY3PbkvOKCcVI-iP7rbcYWZLAWR_9kgcfvwl-Dp7LnPndPTCO5VPqC6LYvXGNm4dRpE/s320/IMG_1520.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

It's actually a small cabinet that my dad made and was in the bathroom of the house I grew up in. My parents built their own house and didn't need this so they put it in my bathroom for me. The book on the left I found at the thrift store for $1.00, the glass in the middle I made using items from the dollar store: glass stones, sand, glass jar and string. The small red anchor box I found at Target in the $1.00 section before I even decided to re-do my bathroom in a nautical theme!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Pretty genius huh? ;) Yes, I'm biased and think my dad is the most amazing father of all times. The only reason I don't use it and covered it up with the anchor box is because I don't get ready in this bathroom, I get ready downstairs.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

They were blue and red already but not the shades I wanted, so I used the paint I had used for the letters on the Hello Sailor sign to paint them to match. I'm not sure if I want to just leave them here or do something else with them, I just thought they were cute and added to the nautical theme a bit. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRFwBe6yc_AtruKmeHKjsa34jSdRRpIDnjVy01YTwVrbyruyKHePvvHNorTzCOW0qb7ahXP21CAjmEjHv14JiMbOB6tR8fyMvOCNNBaGjNkFXjePPR07bilMhA8dgwG94TlEzLRnBDfvOg/s1600/IMG_1509.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRFwBe6yc_AtruKmeHKjsa34jSdRRpIDnjVy01YTwVrbyruyKHePvvHNorTzCOW0qb7ahXP21CAjmEjHv14JiMbOB6tR8fyMvOCNNBaGjNkFXjePPR07bilMhA8dgwG94TlEzLRnBDfvOg/s320/IMG_1509.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">When we re-did the bathroom with the shower and flooring and such, we had to build out a little bit to allow for the wider bathtub, so I ended up with this little shelf. (The two clear vases before used to sit here) I made this "Message in a Bottle" for it. I had the wine bottle already. I just rolled up a wrinkled piece of packing paper and put it in the bottle, then tied some twine around it and attached a little compass charm to jazz it up a bit.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

(The shower curtain I found on eBay for $25) I know the shower curtain is maybe a little risque....but I love it!!!! I have always loved pin-ups and it was the perfect thing for my new bathroom decor. You can also see the entire cabinet in this picture.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrUMkTLYyW-g8KyfSNGtmc9Zl9HS3DQjLH087upDpkO7vzkLk-lp7Fjr9Y7THKnk5C31WdEOR-nSi8UGAbV5GkVYlV5ORjmg6DhwQad8zqFnB3qjo19OTWwKn6wogK_2qLYW_R7-Gyb_2H/s1600/IMG_2346%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrUMkTLYyW-g8KyfSNGtmc9Zl9HS3DQjLH087upDpkO7vzkLk-lp7Fjr9Y7THKnk5C31WdEOR-nSi8UGAbV5GkVYlV5ORjmg6DhwQad8zqFnB3qjo19OTWwKn6wogK_2qLYW_R7-Gyb_2H/s320/IMG_2346%5B1%5D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This white shelf I already had (purchased it from Wal-Mart for around $12). From top to bottom, the blue mirror I already had (found at The Arc thrift store for $0.50). The small red knick knack by the mirror I found at Community Blessings thrift store for $0.25. The red and white rope was actually a dog toy I found at the dollar store. The two red baskets I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby, $4.08 for the smaller one and $4.76 for the larger one. The basket in the middle was $2.00 at Community Blessings thrift store. If I remember correctly there was a third red basket in a small size, but I like the difference in the baskets. The top red basket has some rolled washcloths in it. I bought two red washcloths, two blue washcloths and a hand towel in each color from Kmart for $12.58 all together. The middle basket holds extra shower products for guests if they ever need anything, and the bottom one holds toilet paper.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The Wal-Mart bag has the rest of the things I need to hang up yet. I have a small cast iron anchor (about 6" high and 4" wide) that I got at Hobby Lobby (was $3.99 but was half off when I bought it) that I need to hang above the door, and then I made some pin-up girl prints that I need to hang yet as well, just haven't had the means or the time yet. They will hang under the Hello Sailor sign. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I also bought some netting from a gal on Bisman Online for $5 that she had used for a beach wedding and I'm going to try to hang it from the ceiling in some fashion to give it a nice look. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The last thing I want to do is make a sign for the door. I was looking around on eBay to see if there was any other fun nautical stuff I could find and I ran across one of those gold brass signs that look like it goes on a ship of some sort. It said toilet and I thought that would be cute to put on the door. But then, I ran across one that said...poop deck!!! I busted out laughing to myself! I know that the bathroom in nautical terms is not the poop deck...but it makes me giggle so much!!! I was going to buy it, but it was only about 6" long and I wanted something a bit bigger to hang on the door so I'm going to make my own sign, just not 100% sure how yet haha!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Almost the only thing I didn't buy for this re-do was new towels (body towels) and new rugs. I would much rather get new ones, but I've already spent too much as it is and the grey ones work just fine! I'll post more pictures when the rest of the pin-up girl photos are up and such!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hope everyone's week is going well!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Much love,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">XOXO,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Fair</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Wedding season!!! I have only begun doing photos on my own this year, but before that I worked with another photography company for three years helping with wedding photos. This is a list of things I have learned through that process about your wedding day. I have never attempted to plan a wedding and no, I don't know everything about weddings, but these are some of the tips I have learned from just doing photos for 3 1/2 years that brides (and grooms and bridal parties) should keep in mind.<br />
<br />
1. Be prepared. Even if you are planning a wedding in a couple months instead of a year in advance, make sure you have everything prepared. The last thing you want to be doing is finishing bouquets or favors on the morning of your wedding day.<br />
<br />
2. Delegate. If there are tasks that cannot be done until your wedding day (i.e. decorating the church/reception, picking up the flowers and/or cake, picking someone up from the airport) make sure you delegate these tasks to someone that day so you or your bridal party or parents do not have to worry about these things. You will want your parents and bridal party with you almost the entire day for photos. Try to give these tasks out to a person or persons who will not have anything else going on before the ceremony.<br />
<br />
3. Have a wedding survival kit. A tote bag or clutch that will have anything you may need for last minute emergencies. Some recommendations to put in the survival bag:<br />
Safety pins, a tide stick, oil blotting sheets, lip gloss and any other makeup you may need for touch-ups, bobby pins, a comb, perfume and deodorant, powder, needle and thread, breath mints, band-aids, aspirin/ibuprofen, lint roller<br />
These are of course just suggestions, but better to be well prepared then not at all.<br />
<br />
4. Make sure you eat!! Even if you aren't feeling hungry, make sure you eat. And drink lots of water! Keep yourself hydrated! No one wants anyone to pass out at a wedding!<br />
<br />
5. Make a timeline. If you print out a timeline for when everyone needs to be at the ceremony for pictures beforehand, you won't have to worry about people calling you and trying to figure out when they need to be where. It may seem silly, but it will make the day run that much smoother.<br />
<br />
6. Don't drink before the ceremony. It's fine to do just one drink before as a toast with your bridesmaids or groomsmen or something of the like, but make sure you limit yourself to that and only that. You will have a very long night ahead of you filled probably with everyone and their mom wanting to buy you a drink. Pace yourself. Yes, your wedding is a celebration and a party, but you want to remember it.<br />
<br />
7. Lay everything out the night before. Every thing you will need that day have lain out and set aside so you don't forget anything. If everything is already out and ready to go, you won't have to think so much about making sure you have everything the next day.<br />
<br />
8. Talk with the people involved in your wedding before the big day. EVERYONE!!! Make sure the bridal party knows what the day will all entail. Make sure your parents and family members know their roles and what time to be there. Talk with your photographer about what kind of photos you want, where and what time you need to start photos to be finished by the time the ceremony starts with some time in between to relax before the ceremony begins. The more you talk to people and make sure they all know what is going on and when, the less stress you will have on your wedding day.<br />
<br />
9. Have a meeting with your photographer before the wedding day. Photos are usually something very important in a wedding and usually take up a good chunk of time of your day. Make sure you get a photographer that is willing to listen to you and work with you. As much as a photographer needs to be bossy and get everyone to pay attention and in a position to make your photos look good, they should still be able to work with you and make it a fun experience. Talk to them about your locations. If it isn't a location they are familiar with, try your best to tell them about it, or possibly take them to the location so they are prepared for the backgrounds and such they will have to work with. Make sure they know of any specific shots you want and talk to them about the feel of the wedding you want. Some people like really posed, traditional pictures, some don't. Make sure you get a photographer that is willing to do the types of photos you are looking for. Listen to your photographers suggestions as well. Don't let them run your wedding, but remember that they have usually done quite a few weddings and know what they are talking about.<br />
<br />
10. If you and your fiance would rather not see each other before the ceremony, schedule your wedding accordingly. The photos of you and your fiance, the full bridal party, and the full family photos will not be able to be done until after the ceremony so have your ceremony earlier and make sure your guests are entertained or have a good cocktail hour at your reception area to accommodate the time it will take for you to get the rest of the photos you will need after the ceremony.<br />
<br />
11. Remember that your guests are going to be waiting on you between the ceremony and reception. You don't want to make them wait too long. Yes, it's your day so you want to have it exactly your way, which is not a bad thing, just make sure you remember that your guests will be waiting on you for dinner. Try to only have an hour to an hour and a half in between when guests arrive at the reception to when dinner actually starts.<br />
<br />
12. Delegate how you spend your money. Know your budget before you even start planning. Make a list of the things you want incorporated in your wedding, listing them from most important, to least important, and spend your money accordingly. This will help to insure you get the things at your wedding you really want while sticking to your budget. If photos are most important to you, do your research and spend the extra money on a good photographer. If you want the dance to be the focus, make sure you have a good band or dj. You get the point...<br />
<br />
13. Make compromises. If you and your fiance can't compromise on things with the wedding, how are you going to compromise on things in life? If your fiance wants to wear camouflage tuxes, compromise and let him have camouflage vests or ties instead of tuxes. Just as an example. It's his wedding too.<br />
<br />
14. Do a trial on your makeup and hair. And do not try any new products on the day of your wedding. Allergic reactions are not something you want to deal with on your wedding day! And make sure you know exactly how your hair is going to look for your wedding day, including any hair pieces you want and if you're going to have a veil.<br />
<br />
15. Make it personal. Your wedding day is supposed to be about you and your fiance joining your lives and celebrating your love for one another. Have your wedding represent the two of you. Whether that be by location, food choices, your home-made wine, a slide show, a destination wedding, whatever it is, make sure the entire day is in celebration of the two of you and that it reflects that.<br />
<br />
16. Have fun!!! You put in all the time and money to get your wedding just how you want it, now enjoy it!!! When the big day comes, don't let the little things bother you, it's not worth stressing over. If some big emergency comes up, make sure you have someone there to fix it. There shouldn't be anything you really need to worry about on your wedding day.<br />
<br />
I hope these bits and pieces are able to help anyone heading out to plan their wedding this year or next or in the years to come!!! If anyone wants help with anything feel free to ask me! I kind of love weddings. :)<br />
<br />
Hoping everyone's summer is starting off well and congratulations to all the newly married or about to be newly married couples!!<br />
XOXO<br />

Anyone that follows this blog probably follows my Facebook too so the life stuff is already out there, haha!<br />
<br />
I am SOOOOO excited about my photography stuff taking off! Maybe not really fast, but it's taking off for sure!!! After doing my first two weddings I can officially say I think this is something I could make a career out of! If not a career than an amazing side job!!! It's something I definitely don't want to quit doing and want to do more and more! So now to get the word out there!! If anyone knows of anyone needing senior pictures, engagements, baby/pregnancy pictures, family photos or wedding pictures send them my way!!! My prices are reasonable and you still get some great photos!!! (At least I think so :P )<br />
<br />
The diet and such....eh....I'm still being really cautious about what I eat and such (and still eating and drinking "bad" stuff here and there like I knew I would) but the exercise has (as I imagined) proved problematic. I just have trouble fitting it in sometimes! Yeah, I can do quick 15 minute things here and there, but that just never feels like enough and I never really remember to do them. And of course there's no way I can drag myself out of bed any early than need be...and when I do get in a work out, I feel the need to shower immediately after because I sweat so much with the workouts I do. I know you don't have to sweat to get a work out, but it just makes me feel like I get a better work out haha! Also, my knees have been giving me more problems lately and acting up and hurting and such so doing some of the workouts on the Jillian Michaels DVDs is really painful :(<br />
Some things that have been working for dieting. The detox tea I bought was not good as hot tea, so I started taking 4 tea bags and putting them in a 1 quart pitcher of water and setting them out to make "sun tea". Then I would put it in the fridge to make a cold tea and to drink it I would fill a glass with 3/4 tea and 1/4 lemonade for "sweetener". It has a taste and is still the detoxifying tea but also isn't overly high with calories since the tea really doesn't have any calories and the little bit of lemonade doesn't add much for calories either.<br />
I have been doing lunch at home a lot more and if I do eat fast food I do my best to eat at Subway (which can of course be just as bad for you as McDonald's or something of the like) but I have been doing my best to make a healthy supper and have leftovers or make sandwiches and such at home. Also, since it's summer fresh fruits and veggies are so much better right now!!! The fruit/veggie market that's not far from my house is now open and I've already made one trip there and plan on another one very soon!<br />
<br />
Also, I have been getting more and more focused on getting my house actually decorated and organized to be a functioning, clean, appealing place to live. Drew and I just spent about $1300 on a new bed, box spring, frame, sheets, pillows and comforter. Worth it? YES! Oh my gosh! The sheets we got are made from bamboo and are the absolute most comfortable sheets I've ever slept in! Expensive, yes. Worth it, yes!<br />
<br />
I have also set up a cleaning schedule for myself. I will do an entire post on that later though after having been on it for a bit to see how it actually works for me. The other thing I have been trying to focus on with the organizing portion is my business and craft room. I just can't seem to keep that dang room organized!! So I have been on the hunt for book cases and storage bins to try to help me out! If I find something that works there will be a blog on that as well.<br />
<br />
Last but not least for right now is the decorating. I have been trying for a long time to figure out a good decor theme for my place and have narrowed it down to picking color schemes for each room and going from there. The kitchen (as of right now) is going to be pink and green, the bedroom black and teal, and the living room is to be determined. The upstairs bathroom is already teal and grey....I think I would probably do my entire house in teal but then everything would end up looking the same I think and I would probably not enjoy it much. The bedroom may go to champagne and black just because I think that would be a nice neutral scheme since the sheets we got are a dark purple and the comforter is a light teal. But they look good together so I'll either stick with that or go with other neutrals in the bedroom. Hopefully.....I always get so many thoughts going on in my head on what I would like to do and then they either never get done or never turn out how I thought they would.<br />
<br />
Well now that this blog has become a jumble of nonsense and things that probably don't really matter...<br />
Tootles...<br />

Some love them. Some hate them. Some could give a crap less.<br />
It is interesting to me to be looked at differently for having tattoos. After just getting my 8th and 9th tattoos, I noticed it even more since they are more visible tattoos. Wearing clothing to keep the tattoos open while they heal brought stares I never expected from some people. Most of my tattoos have always been covered up completely or not very visible. This one being completely out in the open for a few days has shown me how much tattoos are still judged. Whether in a good light or bad light, they are still extremely judged for the most part.<br />
Some people view them as destruction of the body while others view them as an expression of art on the body. Either way, most people have something to say about tattoos.<br />
<br />
The best advise I have on tattoos, do it for yourself. NO ONE ELSE!!! You are the one that has to live with them. I know other people say "Yeah but I have to look at them" No, you don't. If you really have that much of a problem with them, I'm going to go ahead and assume you don't associate yourself with people that have them. After coming up with my most recent tattoo I had asked a few close friends/family about what I wanted to get and got multiple different responses. One of the best ones I got from a friend was "Don't ask too many people because you're going to get too many opinions and you won't be doing it for yourself anymore" (it was something close to that anyway) and she was completely right!!! A few people I asked didn't like the location in which I got my tattoos, but after just deciding it was for me and that was where I wanted them to go, I said screw it and went with the spots I wanted. They are still fully hide-able, but also easily shown. I can choose whether I let people see them or not. So after having asked people about my ideas, I tossed most of the opinions out the door and made my own decisions without really asking anyone. (My boyfriend still doesn't like the one I got on the back of my neck because he doesn't like the location, but it was my decision not his and he loves me still anyway). The only real advice I got was from my boyfriend a bit and from my best friend. She came with me on the day I got my tattoos because she wanted to watch a tattoo getting done since she is thinking about getting her first one and because my boyfriend ended up having to work and couldn't make it with me. So basically she helped me make a final decision on the font and the exact placement of the tattoo. She was completely honest with me which is what I needed.<br />
<br />
I have yet to really regret any of my nine tattoos, of course it's only been eight years since I started getting tattoos and that could all change. But the thing I tell myself is, at one point in my life that was something extremely important in my life, important enough that I thought it was worth having on my body for the rest of my life. There is one tattoo that I got with a friend of whom I'm not friends with anymore that I may one day cover up, but right now it's still a really pretty tattoo and I'll wait quite a while before fully making that decision. Each one of my tattoos has meaning behind it, which to me is one of the most important things about tattoos. Part of them is the looks because to me, body art (tattoos, piercings, etc.) is art. Maybe not the same kind of art for all people, there are body modifications I would NEVER consider, but other people think enhance their body. To each his own. But back to my original point, each of my tattoos reminds me of a point in my life and the emotion/meaning behind it. I don't get tattoos to frivolously spend my money and be stuck with something random on my body for the rest of my life.<br />
<br />
On to the next tattoo topic. My tattoo advice on getting a tattoo and the healing/caring for it process.<br />
<br />
First off, pick a good tattoo artist. Make sure you've seen their work and know that they are a credible tattoo artist. I have seen some pretty horrible tattoos...I'll leave it at that. Remember that this is going to be on your body for the rest of your life (unless you are willing to pay for really painful laser removal or pay more to have it covered up later). Just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into with who you decide you're going to let alter your body. Do your research!! Remember that you are going to get what you pay for. Sometimes a cheaper tattoo artist means crappier work. NOT ALWAYS MIND YOU!!! Just make sure (once again) you do your research.<br />
If a tattoo artist is telling you that you need to alter your tattoo, know exactly why and what needs to be altered. For my most recent one I had to alter the font I wanted because my original font would have made the tattoo bigger than I wanted to allow more space so the letters wouldn't blend together and become a jumbled mess. If they are trying to get you to change your tattoo because they don't like it (which I've never had happen to me) don't let them. If they still try to change it just because they think "If you did this it would be way cooler" go elsewhere. This is on your body! They only have to tattoo it once, you have to live with it for the rest of your life!<br />
<br />
Getting a tattoo. Obviously the no brainer, always asked question, "Does it hurt?"<br />
Oh no, not at all, it's like rainbows and sunshine and magical unicorn kisses! YES!!! IT HURTS!!! It's a needle digging into your skin to embed ink in your skin. It's going to hurt!!!! The level of pain is what changes. Each person is different on different parts of their body. In general, the closer to bone or on bone you are, the more it will hurt. Its usually your meatier or fattier areas that are less painful. Again, this depends on the person. When I got my foot tattoo, it was one of my least painful. My wrist tattoo was my absolute most painful one! The most recent two I got on the back of my neck and the front of my shoulder by my collar bone have been my least painful. Each person is different and some people have a much higher pain tolerance than others so it will change from person to person.<br />
When you are getting a tattoo, remember to breathe!!! I have passed out once from getting my first tattoo and almost did while getting my wrist tattoo. So BREATHE!!! The pain is temporary!<br />
Also, eat before you get a tattoo. Not a huge meal, but make sure you have something in your system, especially if you get really nervous like I do. I always make sure to drink orange juice and have something sugary in my system before I get a tattoo since I have passed out before.<br />
If the artist will let you, take pictures or video. I always love going back and remembering the process I went through to get my tattoos. And if later you don't want them, at least you had them just in case. Better to have them and not want them than to want them but not have them.<br />
<br />
Taking care of a tattoo. Remember that your tattoo is a wound. Treat it as such and do as your artist advises. Do NOT soak in water for 1 month after getting a tattoo. Do NOT go tanning for 1 month after getting a tattoo unless you plan on covering it up. Do NOT pick at that scabs on the tattoo!! Your tattoo will scab and picking at the scabs will make it scar and will possibly pull the color out of your tattoo. Leave the bandages on for at least 1 hour after getting the tattoo and then wash it gently with warm water and antibacterial soap. Pat it dry and let it air dry completely before putting on a light layer of Tat Wax or Tattoo Goo. I live by those two tattoo healing substances. Some say they use unscented lotion instead, but I don't trust that. Make sure you don't but it on too heavily, dousing your tattoo in the wax or goo will not allow it to breathe at all. Be careful while your tattoo is healing. Like I said, it's a wound. It needs to breathe to heal and it needs to be left alone for the most part. The more a tattoo moves and is messed with during the healing process the more screwed up it will heal. The healing process takes about 1-2 weeks usually for the scabs to fully come off, and about another 1-2 weeks to be completely and fully healed. Plan for this!!! Do not get a tattoo and then plan to go to Mexico a week later....bad idea!<br />
<br />
These are what I have learned from getting my tattoos over the years. I am not a tattoo guru and I don't know everything and anything there is to know about tattoos, but I do know how to take care of mine and have learned a lot through the years. I know tattoos are a really controversial thing. Just make sure when deciding to get one that you give yourself the time to think it over for a while instead of just jumping out there and doing it and possibly regretting it later.<br />
<br />
I hope this may have been helpful to anyone thinking about getting their first tattoo or anything of the sort.<br />
<br />
Hope everyone is doing well!! Happy Friday!!!<br />

I have been exercising pretty regularly and make it to the gym usually 3 times a week and "exercise" when I'm working at Applebee's. When I don't go to the gym I try to go for a walk or do an exercise video at home. So far that part is going alright.<br />
<br />
The eating healthier isn't going too awful bad either. Obviously I'm not about to never eat the unhealthy stuff again. I have had cheese fries and beer and chocolate, but now its rare and in smaller quantities. I take care to try eating fruits and veggies when I'm munchy hungry instead of chips or something of the sort.<br />
<br />
I have noticed that the best way for me to eat healthier is to make it easy for me. I'm not too keen on making meals. I love (attempting) to cook and try making meals, but most of the time I don't have the time to do it. I bought boneless, skinless chicken breasts and the best way I found for me to have it easily accessible to eat is to take and boil the entire bag and shred it and keep it in the fridge. Then it's already cooked and I can use it for salads or sandwiches and things of that sort. It makes it really easy and I still get protein without all the additives that are in pre-packaged lunch meats and such. This goes as well for fruits and veggies. If I make my little "snack packs", I'm 75% more likely to reach for those instead of something unhealthy because I can just grab and go with them instead of having to cut them or prepare them or anything. So when I go grocery shopping, I get them all set up right away so I have them readily available. It is a small change that has made a huge difference!! Probably been the biggest help for me so far.<br />
<br />
One of the biggest challenges I have found though is having the time to make healthy meals. My life is so busy and it seems like I am always going and always have something to do or somewhere to go. When I go to Applebees I have found it's actually easy to eat healthy by ordering a plain chicken breast and a side salad with no dressing on it. I get a caesar salad so it's just the lettuce (I'm picky and don't like the cabbage or carrots and stuff that's in a house salad) and then I add the cucumbers and tomatoes and just dip it in some dressing instead of pouring the dressing over it so I use less dressing. The chicken I will dip in either dressing or buffalo wing sauce to give it a bit of flavor. While the dressing isn't exactly healthy, the rest of it is and I don't drown my food in the dressing.<br />
<br />
I really wish I had the determination and discipline to get up early in the morning to go and do my gym workouts then, but I just don't, and I really dislike going after work because everyone and their mom is there, but I like to go before I eat. It's one of the "battles" I've been working on. It works perfect for me to go on Friday afternoons because I'm done with work at noon and usually don't have anything planned then. Sundays I have found work really well for me too since I usually have Sundays completely free. But during the week is when it gets harder for me. I've been making it work for the most part, but it's definitely one of the things I've learned I have to figure out how to change and make it stick.<br />
<br />
The one other thing I'm wanting to figure out is healthy snacks. I have been trying to eat breakfast (usually a mini whole wheat bagel with 1/3 less fat cream cheese or peanut butter on it) around 9:00 and then eating a snack (strawberries usually) around 10:30, then another snack (usually a veggie snack pack or and orange or something) so that when meal times come I'm not starving and I eat a little less and healthier because I'm not as in a hurry to eat. It's been working rather nicely. However I want to find other things to have as snacks during the day. The fruit and veggies are great and all, but I want some more variety. So if anyone has any suggestions, let me know!!!<br />
<br />
Hope all is well with everyone!!!<br />

<br />
So I worked both jobs last night...something I've done a lot in the past. I hate working at Applebees. I really do. I really enjoy about 35% of the people I work with....the other 65% I would like to shoot in the foot for being so.....argh!!!! Bring on the bitch-it-out moment. If you don't want to read my rantings, stop now. You have been warned, this is a ranting post.<br />
<br />
#1. Serving is NOT that hard. Yes, when you get busy and everything needs to be done at once, it sucks. Especially when guests don't understand and don't see you running your butt off and only see that their fricken water isn't completely full. But, it's really not that difficult. You greet your guest, you get their drinks, you take their order and punch it in. You get refills, run their food and give them their check....but then you get the guests that you feel as though they come in just to make your life crappier....the ones who say their food is bad but won't let you do anything to fix it, and the ones that wait until the very end of the damn meal, after they have eaten most of their food, to tell you there was something wrong with it even though you checked on them more than once! ARGH!!!!! And then when something goes wrong with their food in the kitchen and it was not your fault at all, they still blame you and tip you crappy. I don't think guests realize that as a server, we don't even make $5 an hour...we work there for the tips, not the wage.<br />
(Ok...that was a really long #1....)<br />
#2. If you go to a sit down restaurant and have to ask how much the drinks are, don't ask and just get water like all the other cheap people. Don't go to a restaurant unless you plan on spending some money. Yeah, alcoholic drinks are expensive, you know they don't put the prices in the menu because they want to trick you into spending more money. If you are doing water for health reasons, good on you. But don't ask me how much a pepsi or a coffee is going to be....<br />
#3. Learn how to tip appropriately. If you get your refills, your food is on time, you get checked on and the server is friendly and you have no problems, tip them well! 10% is not how we tip anymore these days!!! If your service is crappy, a bad tip is expected, but not if the service is really good. Writing on the check that it was the best service you've ever had and then leaving a $2-3 tip is not telling us that it's the best service you've ever had.... Just because I said being a server wasn't hard, doesn't mean it isn't hard work....a bit contradictory sounding, but true. Being on your feet and moving around constantly for the amount of time most of us do, just plain sucks. It's not so bad if you have "good" tables, but when you start getting the crappy tables that you just can't seem to please or that need constant attention...your night is just that much worse.<br />
#4. If you are a server...do NOT make everyone else's job around you harder! Do your shit, do it right the first time and don't expect everyone to pick up your slack. If you're in the weeds, fine, ask for help. Don't complain about how busy you are but never ask for help from the servers that have extra time on their hands.<br />
<br />
I think I'm better now...if you've made it this far, thanks for letting me vent!<br />
<br />
Now because of the way my night went and the mood I was in, I completely gave in and had an extremely greasy/high-calorie supper last night.....boneless wings, mozzarella sticks and spinach and artichoke dip.....I know...I know...I almost regret it now...but last night....totally worth it!!! I'll go to the gym and work extra hard today to make up for it. And no, this will not happen all the time. Certain issues just pushed me into "emotional" eating and I gave in very easily last night. Today is all healthy though!!<br />
<br />
Here's to hoping my next serving shift on Saturday night is better than last night was!!<br />
<br />
Hoping all is well!<br />

It went...ok. I knew the whole restaurant thing would be hard with eating healthy, so I was "prepared".<br />
<br />
Friday night, Drew and I went out to eat at Ground Round for a mini date night. I did ok by having the two cajun chicken breast dinner. I got two sides so I got a caesar salad and mashed potatoes. The salad was the healthy part, potatoes obviously not so much. Better than fries, but it's still restaurant potatoes. We also went out on a date and so I had a couple martinis which I'm quite positive were not the most healthy either, haha! But Friday during the day I had done well. I ate healthier earlier in the day and made it to the gym for almost an hour so that helped at least a bit.<br />
Then Saturday I hung around the house all day. I had a really bad back ache so I didn't do much. I didn't eat the most healthy, but not the worst either. Then I worked that night from 4-12:30 so I was moving around and on my feet the rest of the night. I ate 1/2 a chicken fajita roll up from the Bees and broke down and had some french fries..couldn't help myself! Haha!!<br />
Sunday I did much better. I worked at the Bees again from 11:30-4:30. I brought my pre-packed strawberries with me for breakfast, then got a plain chicken breast and salad with just lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes for lunch. I did dip my chicken breast in wing sauce and my salad I dipped in mexi ranch, but dipping my salad in the dressing definitely helped me to not eat so much dressing! I had a couple beers that night and a cup of hot chocolate, so Sunday wasn't too horrible.<br />
The entire weekend my water bottle was almost always with me and I drank at least one full bottle each day, sometimes two. For me that's pretty good considering I used to almost never drink water except for during dance practice or something like that.<br />
Since I was working Saturday and Sunday at Applebees I didn't do any other working out. I probably should have done some toning exercises, like crunches or leg lifts or something, but after working for so long, I'm just tired and simply don't want to move...so on the days I work at Applebees I'm willing to give myself a bit of a break since I'm not just sitting on my butt all day.<br />
<br />
I've definitely learned that it's much easier for me to keep a "schedule" during the week. At my main job at CMI it's easy to bring healthy snacks (like the strawberries or yogurt or my veggie snack packs). I've been trying to eat breakfast (Usually a mini bagel with some cream cheese or a yogurt or fruit smoothie) and then have a snack around 10:30 ish (usually strawberries or some other kind of fruit) to keep me from being so hungry when lunch time rolls around.<br />
<br />
I know I won't be able to keep myself on a real schedule for working out because I don't always have time to make it to the gym and it isn't always nice enough to go for a walk/jog outside, but I do have some workout DVDs at home and I can do something things at home as well on those days I can't make it to the gym for a big work out. So far I've been doing alright with doing some type of exercise every day, even if I am counting working at Applebees as my workout for those days. That just also helps because if I work during the week, I work at CMI from 8-5 and then have to get to Applebees right after since the shifts start at 5 but they let me come a bit late since I work my full time job til then. So working from 8 a.m. to usually about 11:30 p.m. makes for one tired Farren!!!<br />
<br />
I did try the detox tea once and it was...weird...it didn't taste too bad but it didn't have the best after taste I guess....I dunno...I'm going to try it again tonight I think. I think it would be good for my body to have a natural detox like that so I'm going to try to do it for two weeks straight and see how I feel after that. Even if I have to make a mug of it, let it cool off and just chug it down, haha!<br />
<br />
Other than that, no other changes. I'm trying really hard to keep using the Spark People calorie counter to just keep watch of how much I'm taking in every day. It's frustrating to use sometimes to find the correct thing, but in reality it does help to show you where most of your calories are coming from and where you could cut some calories...<br />
<br />
Hope everyone is doing well!! Thanks again for all the support!<br />

At lunch I did try the spinach/mozzarella/tomato concoction things....I added a small dollop of italian dressing to each one.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT3fcE3QfwfhIMpkWmiPZtBxKgZrcIx9Zf4VS2VgwbFR36z8udyJdECfg27RhJS4Rf_Xt1XGoXL5WD900KoEnEaA4ReFzho5TrMPoW6NXylrDEYciZBGc2eMJ7PIbiJtDrAbJKW175xzTq/s1600/photo+(11).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT3fcE3QfwfhIMpkWmiPZtBxKgZrcIx9Zf4VS2VgwbFR36z8udyJdECfg27RhJS4Rf_Xt1XGoXL5WD900KoEnEaA4ReFzho5TrMPoW6NXylrDEYciZBGc2eMJ7PIbiJtDrAbJKW175xzTq/s320/photo+(11).JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">They were actually pretty good, except the texture. I'm such a texture person...the texture of the cheese with the texture of the tomatoes and spinach just didn't mix for me. So I think next time I will just cut up slices of cucumbers and replace the cheese with those. Makes it even a little bit healthier.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Aside from that my food choices were pretty easy and delicious. However the next "road block" I instantly ran into was working at Applebee's last night. I only had to work a volume shift so I was home before 9:00 p.m. which allowed me to make something at home to eat for supper.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP2k1LqWynXKVvsb4qxyT0WmIzsBima-DXZqbvawzm5APR7eSZh8n8xrKFVwcQxqrSqj-fRQaldLz3rxZIuv0lORinBcgW5kXVJmx2SAbPadxGNICf0DtwrRmFZGwpfsNW3_WXHG0ZDMAD/s1600/photo+(10).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP2k1LqWynXKVvsb4qxyT0WmIzsBima-DXZqbvawzm5APR7eSZh8n8xrKFVwcQxqrSqj-fRQaldLz3rxZIuv0lORinBcgW5kXVJmx2SAbPadxGNICf0DtwrRmFZGwpfsNW3_WXHG0ZDMAD/s320/photo+(10).JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Spinach, lettuce, one roma tomato, half a cucumber (peeled and sliced), and 10 slices of turkey pepperoni. I dipped it in ranch instead of pouring (drowning) it in ranch before eating it. I would have put chicken on it or something other than the pepperoni, but I didn't have anything prepared and it was already 9...let's just face it, I was lazy haha! I also didn't want to eat anything too "heavy" before going to be either. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The one thing I realized I am most definitely going to have to do on the days I work at Applebees is either bring something from home, pre-made, to eat, or alter something I can order off the menu. I could even just order a plain chicken breast with a side of rice or a side salad. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I also had a really easy time drinking lots of water. Since I have already (for about the past 9 months to a year) been carrying around a water bottle with me almost everywhere I go. It also helps when I'm racing around at work and start sweating my butt off to be more likely to re-hydrate, haha! The one thing I did give in to was a beer after work. But I already knew that one was coming. As much as I "love" my serving job because it's cash now and if you do your job right you can make a lot in one shift! It's hard...it's being on your feet constantly, dealing with crabby and picky people, and trying to please everyone around you while dealing with all the crabby people you work with. Trust me...not exactly a "glamorous" job in the least bit. But like I said, good, fast, "easy" money. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Also, about a year or so ago, I got onto SparkPeople.com. (Notice how about a year or so ago I tried to get healthy too? :P I'm doing better already this time!) Well I quit using SparkPeople because I didn't have "constant" access to a computer and I didn't want to write down what I ate and try to find it and figure out calories and all that junk. I don't believe getting into a healthy lifestyle should be about counting calories. But my friend, Kathie, told me that they have an app! So I downloaded it. It's actually quite easy to use and since I have my phone with me almost 24/7 it made it even easier to keep track of everything. It basically just gives me an idea of the amount of calories I'm putting into my body everything and some of the things that would be easier to cut out to avoid some calories. In just the two days I have used it I can easily see the two biggest things a person should try to take out of their diet to avoid unnecessary calories: liquids and dressings!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Dressings for me are the worst!!! I've let myself get so used to using ranch, ketchup, mexi ranch, sour cream, italian dressing, mayo and other things to "flavor" my foods with that I'm not actually tasting the food I'm eating. I'm basically looking for a way to get the taste of the dressing without just sticking my finger into it and licking it off! Hahahaha!!!! So I'm starting by downsizing dressings. For me, it's something hard to give up on completely. Like pop for other people. So I have officially found my "weakness" I think! That and I know it will be hard to resist fried food sooner or later!! Right now, I'm just trying to avoid it all together!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So....as a first report...so far so good!!! I'm like this. Yes...it's only been 1 1/2 days since I made the "big" choice to change my life in such ways, but this is the first time I'm actually feeling really good about it and wanting to blog about it and such. Since I was walking all night at work and was able to avoid the tempting food, I got in some good exercise last night! Tonight I'm planning on going for a 30-40 minute walk/jog after I get home from work! Tomorrow I will be done with work at noon so I am planning on heading to the gym before going home for lunch. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I did get supper on in the crock pot while at lunch today. I'm making chili, and I just used the ingredients I already had so I know it won't be the most healthy thing I could choose, but it's definitely better than going out to a restaurant or something like that!!! I have also for yesterday and today been trying to snack throughout the day on fruits and veggies or this afternoon I had a mini whole wheat bagel with peanut butter on it so that I'm not "starving" when I go to lunch or supper and just want to grab something from McDonald's or something so I can just eat now and not be hungry! So I'm hoping that helps a lot!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And just wanted to say one big THANK YOU!!! to everyone who has commented and offered their support! I really didn't expect a big response from this so it is so nice to know that I have support through all of this!! Thanks again everyone!!! And again, anyone with questions, tips, advice or wanting to do this with me just let me know!! I would be happy to share what I have learned so far and ready to learn more if I can!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hoping all is well!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">XOXO</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Fair</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>FairWrenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06493576900639956466noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726886473285856161.post-21024266321243567632012-03-21T10:52:00.000-05:002012-03-21T10:52:25.796-05:00Healthy OrganizationRecently my mom and I went to AZ for a mini vaca/check out possible retirement for my parents. While there we both enjoyed the sun by basking in it by the pool of our hotel. Upon doing such, I realized something....I'm not the fit little 18 year old I used to be. Let's just say I'm glad the only person I knew was my mom so I didn't overly care what I looked like in my bikini, but I would much rather not see the sight again, haha! Now I have of course realized after larger jean sizes and needing a new bra fitting that I have, obviously, gained weight since high school. No, it isn't like as though I will cross paths with someone from high school and they can't recognize me because of the amount of fat I've obtained, but I have become much to comfortable in flowy, comfy clothes. Not to say that I should be skipping around the office in a body hugging tank top and shorts! But it would definitely be nice to feel comfortable again in my swimsuit. However much I do fully believe that I would much rather be 140 and enjoying a good ol' bud light clamato and some mild boneless wings with ranch...I would also like to be 120 enjoying those things once a week instead of every night, haha! So I have finally decided to actually buckle down and try actually making it to the gym and eating healthier. I want to not only switch up the chips and chocolate for veggies and frozen yogurt, but I want to actually start cooking supper on a regular basis, instead of once every two weeks haha!<br />
<br />
The biggest thing I have come to realize with this change I'm wanting to make and after doing "research" (or more so just taking in information for the past year or so from watching the biggest loser and such) is that this will take some work. This isn't a diet. This is a lifestyle change. This isn't eating fruits and veggies for a month to lose some weight and then going right back to the way things were and "expecting" to keep the weight off. So first things first, I went grocery shopping last night. I went with the intent of buying groceries because we were basically down to ramen, ketchup and a couple cans of soup in the house. (Ok, so it wasn't THAT bad...but you get the picture :P) Now before I went to the grocery store last night I had already decided in my mind that I wanted to get lots of fruits and vegetables and I had looked up a bunch of healthy recipes that I would like (I'm really picky :S) and decided to try to get some of the ingredients for those recipes. Once I got to the grocery store I decided I would avoid the chip aisle all together and do my darndest to only get "healthy" things. Now, of course, I am not willing to give up my delicious, fatty foods all together. I am willing to make changes, but I know I am not about to quit fattening foods all together and beer and I just get along too well for me to quit drinking it, haha! The other thing that I have realized is going to be really hard for me, is the fact that my boyfriend, Drew, is not overly about eating healthy. He would be totally fine with a bologna and heavy-on-the-mayo sandwich. So it will kind of be like shopping for two people. He is all about supporting me in this and will eat some of the healthier things I cook, but he's just not going to be as into it as I am and getting him into the gym would be worse than pulling teeth. But, he is at least supporting me and ok with all this.<br />
<br />
So after getting groceries last night, I got them all home and completely over-hauled my fridge. I literally took everything out of it and did a spring cleaning on it. Since I had recently gone through it and gotten rid of anything that had expired, there wasn't much to throw out, but it gave me the chance to get it all cleaned and organized. (And let me tell you, after a couple years of not being fully cleaned, it was ready for it!) So this is what it looked like after I cleaned it out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMtxAoStyt8CBwWzwr1Bs-2IX5qwf-xrBnscsDP0sFfa25t3lZIIQUEFwQP6kIqV6bxN3QDamURn1pExq5RQLe7XzQXs8JEKRDcmOQrzZunUuoLTkoRnq5zCONAG3yewDWC0ZTfuUuGD0B/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMtxAoStyt8CBwWzwr1Bs-2IX5qwf-xrBnscsDP0sFfa25t3lZIIQUEFwQP6kIqV6bxN3QDamURn1pExq5RQLe7XzQXs8JEKRDcmOQrzZunUuoLTkoRnq5zCONAG3yewDWC0ZTfuUuGD0B/s320/photo.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">All the drinks I kept to the left, where they have been kept, but all the fruits and veggies I just bought I kept in easy access on the top two shelves. I used to put them in the bottom drawer, but then would forget about them and they would go bad before I had even attempted to eat them. So with them now in plain sight I will be much more likely to go for those as a snack instead of other not as healthy things. The bottom remained condiments and such and the only thing I'm not sure of at the moment is where left overs are going to go, haha! I do want to go to the dollar store or walmart and get some rectangle/square shaped bins to keep fruits and veggies in. I just put them in a couple bowls I had on hand, but the bowls take up too much room. So that will be on of my next purchases. The bottom drawers ended up being "drinks". The left one is where Drew keeps his pop and the right one has liquor in it. I'm lucky enough that I so rarely drink pop it will be easy for me to just not drink it at all anymore. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">After having purchased all those fruits and veggies, I decided to make them even more easily eaten by putting them into their own little "snack packs". I am a very lazy girl. Yes, very lazy. If it isn't easy to grab and go, I may choose not to eat it. Yup, that lazy sometimes. Also, with such a busy lifestyle, sometimes I just don't have the time to make something. Working two jobs in which the first goes from 8-5 and the second starts at 5:15 doesn't leave time for me to get something to eat in between. Working at Applebees as a server you would think I would be walking around all night so I would be burning calories. Well as much as that may be true, I would usually turn around and eat something from Applebees. And that something would usually be wings or fries or a salad. And I mean I would eat some lettuce with my dressing. Yeah...not good!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">A good thing to remember about salads. Just because you're eating a salad doesn't mean it's healthy for you!!! Look at the ingredients in the salad. Is the meat on your salad fried? How much dressing did you put on it? How much cheese is on your salad? Does it contain anything that is fried? Some salads contain tortilla strips which are basically deep fried chip strips. Not healthy!!! Also, ask for your dressing on the side and just dip each bite in a little bit of dressing. Then you aren't over doing it. If your salad comes with sour cream or any other additive, get it without. You would be amazed at how fattening a salad can really be!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now...back to my "snack packs"..</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-25h36LI-1nY4MD-S9pwwCXRC_QCVlq4ce4YtCvYHnJBKXBuKbVLVr7IYOk1fbxWbIHaxki5cqVk-bZELVe7MwNrknBYU0Meqys3POk685TIBqMQ_s6rCXMMlDeGFjUIiV0lXMt97v057/s1600/photo+(6).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-25h36LI-1nY4MD-S9pwwCXRC_QCVlq4ce4YtCvYHnJBKXBuKbVLVr7IYOk1fbxWbIHaxki5cqVk-bZELVe7MwNrknBYU0Meqys3POk685TIBqMQ_s6rCXMMlDeGFjUIiV0lXMt97v057/s320/photo+(6).JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I bought sugar snap peas and baby carrots and put a few of each in these little plastic baggies. This makes it so easy for me to just grab it and take it with me. If you are one of those people who absolutely can't eat veggies without dipping them in something, put a light dressing in a small container to grab and take with you as well. With the sugar snap peas and carrots, they are full of enough flavor for me to not need anything to dip them in. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHMg_ENwsqtWKYgSE84qvh0gpwr3PVxEbM6TqDjcow_MW5KzOgLzFqgSuMHDC_RHZMH5t5zqgsWvCya7ZQUbCg5QiPxg1jT-QD0FQueKoFv1vwbz8uy88mBrHEJJDjU-sm1h0fc7H6PG0d/s1600/photo+(7).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHMg_ENwsqtWKYgSE84qvh0gpwr3PVxEbM6TqDjcow_MW5KzOgLzFqgSuMHDC_RHZMH5t5zqgsWvCya7ZQUbCg5QiPxg1jT-QD0FQueKoFv1vwbz8uy88mBrHEJJDjU-sm1h0fc7H6PG0d/s320/photo+(7).JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I then took the strawberries I bought and I washed them and cut them up right away and put them in containers like this so I could easily grab them and go. My mom told me also that to preserve any berry longer, rinse them in a rinse of 10 parts water to 1 part vinegar. Rinse, not soak. I haven't actually tried this yet, but my mom is a pretty smart cookie and I trust her judgement. :) So I will definitely be trying that later!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">One other thing I tried is mini snack/salad idea I found on Pinterest (imagine that, haha!). I did alter it to my liking and haven't tried it yet, but I made them last night and put them in my fridge for when I'm ready for them! Here's what they look like.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTc-fGstR4WRJX01hBHf0bJQgN1UdF99VTDTyjBrVdke9JiHBPaHvmo3E1KWq1nCorqYJAaWPSsfsMiEuvzSRGx3x7uNYQ8gxbyQ7RU02C3kDqpBoBUuoDvkkB96RsPK2B48TnXj4urUr5/s1600/photo+(5).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTc-fGstR4WRJX01hBHf0bJQgN1UdF99VTDTyjBrVdke9JiHBPaHvmo3E1KWq1nCorqYJAaWPSsfsMiEuvzSRGx3x7uNYQ8gxbyQ7RU02C3kDqpBoBUuoDvkkB96RsPK2B48TnXj4urUr5/s320/photo+(5).JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I will add a bit of Italian dressing to them when I'm ready to eat them, but they are just a spinach leaf, grape tomato and chunk of mozzarella cheese. Here's how I made them.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyiSo2crlURI6eQBqUjNL3F0scZFCKJtgjAqiWhsMUI8hDhYxj0j3b2_SR850AhGBsOJ2HC5tEXofeTUA9EI-y781XsnNuofbSGNrsw8BpFYU9fnEo31qjHLUNPoenpWSVolwhs9oPhCPP/s1600/photo+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyiSo2crlURI6eQBqUjNL3F0scZFCKJtgjAqiWhsMUI8hDhYxj0j3b2_SR850AhGBsOJ2HC5tEXofeTUA9EI-y781XsnNuofbSGNrsw8BpFYU9fnEo31qjHLUNPoenpWSVolwhs9oPhCPP/s320/photo+(2).JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">You'll need spinach leaves, toothpicks, grape/cherry tomatoes and a string cheese stick.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg309UJj8pOXw6F-LhT6i3x0dBOJBcsZ1JNYxxWHv1SOaWAKgvXzsDEpI1LMzCSOxt7-diDsQi-26ZMyZUlTBr38ZQzahfroBtuBjW09e3gCKNONA655F2IGBUAF548iLfSUlAjinJIDYZJ/s1600/photo+(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg309UJj8pOXw6F-LhT6i3x0dBOJBcsZ1JNYxxWHv1SOaWAKgvXzsDEpI1LMzCSOxt7-diDsQi-26ZMyZUlTBr38ZQzahfroBtuBjW09e3gCKNONA655F2IGBUAF548iLfSUlAjinJIDYZJ/s320/photo+(3).JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">You can use pre-made cheese balls too, but I thought it was easier and cheaper to just cut up a stick of mozzarella string cheese.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsBxqK0VyyPzdQNVcB3XlB-WUs_5sfUGTNeqY-dH3-HgllhrVpE7L4BZLIyKSy02c-LoHXpSoCqSUKT1CH5OUpILItW5hdOI3FPXLs32_R3n18Gjr6b_qJQc8gcIIFSD4zX9xi6yuY6TVP/s1600/photo+(4).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsBxqK0VyyPzdQNVcB3XlB-WUs_5sfUGTNeqY-dH3-HgllhrVpE7L4BZLIyKSy02c-LoHXpSoCqSUKT1CH5OUpILItW5hdOI3FPXLs32_R3n18Gjr6b_qJQc8gcIIFSD4zX9xi6yuY6TVP/s320/photo+(4).JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Stick the toothpick through the end of the spinach leaf (I had to dig a bit to try to find the bigger spinach leaves), then through the cheese, then through a tomato and through the other side of the spinach leaf and voila!!! They look so delicious!!! And they were really easy to make! I think they would be good for party appetizers as well! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">On this journey will also be the lifestyle change of more activity. Whether it be going outside for a walk, going to the gym, playing volleyball or softball with friends, doing a workout DVD at home, anything!!! I just need to actually start doing things every day! I have had a gym membership for about 2 years now and I rarely use it. I cannot count the number of times I have paid $30 a month for nothing because I never even went to the gym. But now, that's going to change! Even if I just go to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes or something like that, it's better than what I was doing!! The one thing I am lucky in with this is that I have many friends that I know will be willing to do things with me like this. Especially my best friend of whom got a gym membership at the same gym I'm at so we could go together, haha!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Next is drinks. I have already stated that I am very lucky in the fact that I don't like pop very much. The only time I ever get it is when I go to a fast food place. I have already started a while ago to drink more water, but I will be drinking even more so I can actually try to get my 8 glasses a day at least. The only other thing I usually drink is milk, of which I drink skim because it's a bit healthier, and beer. Yes, that delicious golden (well red for me haha!) beer. This is something that I have had the hardest time with because after a long day of work or after anything stressful, I instantly want a beer to take the edge off. Well that has to stop. No, I'm not going to give it up. I just want to drink less often. Instead of having a beer every night I want to just drink on the weekends or for special occasions or something. This one will be the hardest for me because it's become such a "nightly" thing. But I'm bound and determined to change that!! And I guess one a night isn't the worst thing ever, but still. The last thing for this category is a tea I found that I want to try. I have become much more of a tea drinker lately and when I found this I figured it was worth a try.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi88Uw7h60Wk0QqcPl1JsyShC63wOo4h9brO8HLLtHRu6jIsK7Jw8cPBre-ZvPzFqwIINM7Shs_dNGV6C_uqm3UBVpJp-y47B3NXs9qnZeCJ5a5sadfxTi4lUVKANoXLqZROgzxwwLBDANY/s1600/photo+(8).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi88Uw7h60Wk0QqcPl1JsyShC63wOo4h9brO8HLLtHRu6jIsK7Jw8cPBre-ZvPzFqwIINM7Shs_dNGV6C_uqm3UBVpJp-y47B3NXs9qnZeCJ5a5sadfxTi4lUVKANoXLqZROgzxwwLBDANY/s320/photo+(8).JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Doing a detox for your body is (personally) never a bad idea. No, I don't think it should be over-done or anything, but its usually good to do it once a month or so, in my eyes. The first detox I found on Pinterest was a three day detox... Day one, nothing but water. Day two, 5-6 servings of fruits and water. Day 3, 5-6 servings of vegetables and water.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Are you kidding me!!! Not eating for a day! I know that is probably good for a detox, but I'm hungry by 9 in the morning!!! Haha!!! So when I went grocery shopping and happened to find this I thought it would be a good try!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here's the info on the other side of the box.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrQYJgTAaFGTDapmmhKlXiSp3_JIGaKmlTzmfPWvuu0NpGyiA-AFWqnTNhMI31oC-TX24bWSyLRxxMisdkysgSzTLcWe8XIg-Edx5mvK7gbGoKiLbVFuwlYOgvt7dzQV_ziKyYgKQbTsJC/s1600/photo+(9).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrQYJgTAaFGTDapmmhKlXiSp3_JIGaKmlTzmfPWvuu0NpGyiA-AFWqnTNhMI31oC-TX24bWSyLRxxMisdkysgSzTLcWe8XIg-Edx5mvK7gbGoKiLbVFuwlYOgvt7dzQV_ziKyYgKQbTsJC/s320/photo+(9).JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And the other side says:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Get the Most Out of Every Cup</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Bring water to boiling and steep 5 to 10 minutes. For a stronger effect, use 2 tea bags. Drink 1 to 3 cups any time during the day, up to 10 tea bags a day. Because it has no harsh laxatives or diuretics, Peach DeTox is mild enough to be used every day for up to 30 days.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So I guess we will see how it goes...Again I haven't tried this yet, but I figured it would be worth a shot since I am trying hard to eat healthier and such. The last drink I usually have is one cup of coffee in the morning during the week at my job. So I am going to start having a cup of this tea instead and see if it works for me. After I have used all the tea bags (16) and I'm doing ok with it, I will just switch to a different tea in the morning and maybe buy this every other month or something if I like it. Time will tell on this journey!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My goal weight is 120. Now I don't expect to lose this in a couple months or anything and I also am under the knowledge that gaining muscle (if I even do) could change that weight as well to be higher. All I know is that I don't want to be a "fat" slob anymore. I want to feel energetic and I know a lot of the reason I don't lately is because of my eating/drinking/not working out habits. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So, here's to a new start, to not waiting for a certain time to start, and to a new lifestyle!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Wish me luck!!! And if anyone else wants in on this journey just let me know! Haha! I'd be happy to share ideas and keep on track with people! And anyone that ever wants to go for a walk or do something active get ahold of me! I'm so excited that it's summer time! I'm so excited to get outside and get active!!! Thanks in advance for all the support and any feedback I can get! :D</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Wishing everyone well!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">XOXO,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Fair</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div>FairWrenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06493576900639956466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726886473285856161.post-29284477600965698292012-03-08T11:10:00.000-06:002012-03-08T11:10:56.740-06:00Revlon Lip ButtersSo these Revlon Lip Butters have been all the rage and what not lately in the makeup world. They have basically been described as an in between of lipstick and tinted lip balm. They are supposed to give your lips a nice hint of color while moisturizing like a lip balm. After seeing many reviews on them, I decided I "had" to have one of my very own. I ended up buying two of them from Wal-Mart for six dollars and some odd cents in change.<br />
<br />
The reviews I saw all said the lip butters were pretty sheer and that if you were looking for a more matte looking lip color, these were NOT the way to go. They are glossy almost like a lip gloss but not as intense of a gloss.<br />
<br />
The two that I purchased were # 070 Cherry Tart and #010 Raspberry Pie.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRFfaYpLCr6BeD0ZfAo05EMhcSUvN5Uqo26KRvIF0JziOwPS-EcBJSQT93ZP7MAWZYpX8C8EGsWcF9m0oPPghih2dtk8m1qeqnDAsgc04h3f1-zW-lv3kwt6nS8ZoBlHOf2s8zLdz6yQ8Y/s1600/IMG_0829%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRFfaYpLCr6BeD0ZfAo05EMhcSUvN5Uqo26KRvIF0JziOwPS-EcBJSQT93ZP7MAWZYpX8C8EGsWcF9m0oPPghih2dtk8m1qeqnDAsgc04h3f1-zW-lv3kwt6nS8ZoBlHOf2s8zLdz6yQ8Y/s320/IMG_0829%5B1%5D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">After hearing that the coloring was quite sheer, I tried the Raspberry Pie first and just slapped it on like a lip balm more than a lipstick...bad idea. This one is not sheer at all!! It is a much more matte color and is much more like a lipstick. After having worn this one all day, after wearing off a bit it looked like I had put on a lip stain and like my lips were just an off color instead of looking like I had applied a lip stick or lip balm for that matter. It was much more pink than I expected it to be. Not a bad color, just not the best of the lip butters.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The red one is much much better!! This one is more sheer as I had heard described and does not look funny or like I stained my lips as it wears off. For me it is perfect if I'm feeling a red lip but not a bold red lip. It is shiny like a lip gloss but not so much so that it looks like my lips are caked in glossy, juicy, sticky yuckiness. It has the perfect amount of shine for me.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwAHFK-ELZiq_lEW1VEOGD5CE70WK0Dd9S60ez7NWPLdhQJc8SvPmP_fqWjc31qVbp0UgHhqVkTEepVwgcQVDtYQ6GY-3IplVi_idVIsSK-O-5X5kTeNBnGU7sBMA3NU3nPErZxlzsydTy/s1600/IMG_0835%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwAHFK-ELZiq_lEW1VEOGD5CE70WK0Dd9S60ez7NWPLdhQJc8SvPmP_fqWjc31qVbp0UgHhqVkTEepVwgcQVDtYQ6GY-3IplVi_idVIsSK-O-5X5kTeNBnGU7sBMA3NU3nPErZxlzsydTy/s320/IMG_0835%5B1%5D.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The top swatch is of the Cherry Tart and the bottom is of the Raspberry Pie. You can imagine my surprise when I put the latter on my lips expecting a nice pink tint and ended up with that color! Still a pretty color, just highly unexpected!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjijBUtCbaMJuDWTw4vS01ycVSzljMrsOJBI3pbAEgZ6Sjglf9VxmZ1uwd8gP9kOorlFne6GqDW8fORaNqJFknt2hSs3YrBzlwcT3eF_QJC2-ryDGGuHk-SWP7G0qid06jzB7AM0zKAf9_v/s1600/IMG_0838%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjijBUtCbaMJuDWTw4vS01ycVSzljMrsOJBI3pbAEgZ6Sjglf9VxmZ1uwd8gP9kOorlFne6GqDW8fORaNqJFknt2hSs3YrBzlwcT3eF_QJC2-ryDGGuHk-SWP7G0qid06jzB7AM0zKAf9_v/s320/IMG_0838%5B1%5D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The lip butters out of their cases</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhieEyq-ghCSsMJ0mVeGOlkBNIPLO610sPqz7nexfwouUJAwRa04-Ee2PVD_4_EYH4hdhuBFBItudL1S71MRHnzedEDKQZUwMoQvbRFUuoDZRUkurkbawNKo2RAJbZKxii2tk2FUbLkKNVW/s1600/IMG_0841%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhieEyq-ghCSsMJ0mVeGOlkBNIPLO610sPqz7nexfwouUJAwRa04-Ee2PVD_4_EYH4hdhuBFBItudL1S71MRHnzedEDKQZUwMoQvbRFUuoDZRUkurkbawNKo2RAJbZKxii2tk2FUbLkKNVW/s320/IMG_0841%5B1%5D.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And a close up. You can even tell once you look at them like this that the pink one is a more matte color and the red one even seems to have small gold flecks in it, which I like. It doesn't make it look glittery on the lips, just a nice hint of shimmer.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">All in all, I like the lip butters. They definitely don't leave my lips feeling dried out. I don't really think they work as well as a lip balm, but they are much more moisturizing than a lip stick and a great alternative to non-lipstick wearers who want a little color!! I would most definitely repurchase the Cherry Tart, but will most likely hardly use the Raspberry Pie.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Maybe a slightly boring post, but had to get my input out there on the lip butters I had tried so far!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hope all is well!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">XOXO Fair</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div>FairWrenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06493576900639956466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726886473285856161.post-35753898999998768872012-01-31T20:53:00.000-06:002012-01-31T20:53:52.321-06:00RevampingSo recently I found a pin on Pinterest that was all about decluttering and organizing...so guess what I have recently become obsessed with! Hahaha!! These are just a few of the things I've decluttered and organized..<br />
<br />
Pantry before...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOugaF1wlb4-pUKVq8JM3Yub9M6ew_oYPIPvQ9WIb87F8ZQtQp_69Dx0gKmthUnKJs2YXjz1Wyo3E-IcETcUtdZ-nm6BOD_LlWMLUVbQOByvMBuOoqu6Uimo6GKAz1VP6Pf4D9nJRoozZ2/s1600/IMG_0416%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOugaF1wlb4-pUKVq8JM3Yub9M6ew_oYPIPvQ9WIb87F8ZQtQp_69Dx0gKmthUnKJs2YXjz1Wyo3E-IcETcUtdZ-nm6BOD_LlWMLUVbQOByvMBuOoqu6Uimo6GKAz1VP6Pf4D9nJRoozZ2/s320/IMG_0416%5B1%5D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Yes it looks even worse because I had just recently pretty much literally thrown the broom and mop in there..but it was actually even worse because before I took this picture I had gone through all the spices and extra candy that was old/expired and threw it away.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Pantry after...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqe9_l9Eq3KAMfeExK3NGzOW1Ykg4chJEt8RUvttyuMZTaUMV4jXOvQOL-u-vabrG753lmoKqMttIHacwwXMY297K-XdMgEAkQcSFtKpquwSEDuFzDbo6QNHXC2X4F9_nS9Lja4gEpJbHH/s1600/IMG_0418%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqe9_l9Eq3KAMfeExK3NGzOW1Ykg4chJEt8RUvttyuMZTaUMV4jXOvQOL-u-vabrG753lmoKqMttIHacwwXMY297K-XdMgEAkQcSFtKpquwSEDuFzDbo6QNHXC2X4F9_nS9Lja4gEpJbHH/s320/IMG_0418%5B1%5D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I got rid of the old mop and broom that I don't use and was able to tuck the mop and broom that remained into the side so they are out of the way. I also found these blue baskets...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzmvlHOCDMqU2CvVRgaRL2voYZ2Pqqd6SWqbixzU8Gz1z2iGv9iW_CaZ9aSyoTHdLuiywZq-vFvIJHAMVAZWOVX6aD2Uk2UdoHA7ziVgg81AKaR0NcaiZy7johR0LiI6EAAX2KhzIQAVB9/s1600/IMG_0417%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzmvlHOCDMqU2CvVRgaRL2voYZ2Pqqd6SWqbixzU8Gz1z2iGv9iW_CaZ9aSyoTHdLuiywZq-vFvIJHAMVAZWOVX6aD2Uk2UdoHA7ziVgg81AKaR0NcaiZy7johR0LiI6EAAX2KhzIQAVB9/s320/IMG_0417%5B1%5D.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">at the Dollar Tree for $1 each (can't beat a good deal like that!). I used these for the random sprinkles and candles and cake decorating items in one and all our koozies in another. The third one went to my plastic storage containers to hold all the lids. Even though there is not a huge difference, just going through and getting rid of anything that wasn't needed and moving stuff around into a more organized fashion makes me not dread going into my little pantry :P</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">After doing this I went through my kitchen cabinets..I didn't take any pictures because I didn't really need to get rid of anything or declutter, but what I did do was move all my cups and glasses into one cabinet, then all my dishes and bowls and such into another, and finally food into another. It just helped to get everything a bit more organized and in a more useful place in the kitchen. I didn't take any pictures because I forgot :S But there really wasn't much to see anyway :P</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The last thing I did so far was the lower cabinet in my kitchen...it looked like this before...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqPm7wSrp_RdX6o9RM0i3snvdn7k3Wz2iY3R_GnkIP9nC1saIch_zjtY3TUae8XryAMgwoA-6k9Qs4qYs0c3t7iaOtUuMPPvTXQZlFYefsX8ZJR0D8MlKKfQ4pkqxIIGgNph1doPErv65s/s1600/IMG_0422%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqPm7wSrp_RdX6o9RM0i3snvdn7k3Wz2iY3R_GnkIP9nC1saIch_zjtY3TUae8XryAMgwoA-6k9Qs4qYs0c3t7iaOtUuMPPvTXQZlFYefsX8ZJR0D8MlKKfQ4pkqxIIGgNph1doPErv65s/s320/IMG_0422%5B1%5D.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Although there isn't much in this cabinet..everything was just strewn all over the place with no real designated spot...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So here is the after :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnHAVxK_wuk1m_zldQWtwhRuzawQshL-po0IrqEkH4nhNs_VjT-M7THAwSwuZ6P14BAECVgoCO4mnP2Ub5Ms6xjymnl2y1bYpAXXrGo5GO3jkgw9oI3_NF_xf6h2tMgpc_jpspMFYLTw1V/s1600/IMG_0427%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnHAVxK_wuk1m_zldQWtwhRuzawQshL-po0IrqEkH4nhNs_VjT-M7THAwSwuZ6P14BAECVgoCO4mnP2Ub5Ms6xjymnl2y1bYpAXXrGo5GO3jkgw9oI3_NF_xf6h2tMgpc_jpspMFYLTw1V/s320/IMG_0427%5B1%5D.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Makes quite a difference huh?! All the extra cups ended up in my pantry by the paper plates and such and I just moved everything around into a much neater positioning so everything has it's place.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I did also go through my linen closet, but again there was no decluttering to do, all I did was go through and take all my sheet sets and put each set into one of the matching pillowcases. This is an amazing trick that will quickly organize your linen closet and make it much easier to grab an entire sheet set and will also make it look much neater without having to purchase any baskets or anything else like that. Again, no pictures, but not much to it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I plan to go through my craft room soon and take multiple pictures. I had the room very well organized at one point...and then I started just throwing things in the room that I didn't feel like finding a home for so it has become more of a junk room...so the next free Sunday or Saturday afternoon I have, that's my next project...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I never knew how relieving decluttering and re-organizing could be!! Even though I've done just a few small things, it makes me feel like I'm actually running a household and am in control of things instead of a college kid with a place to put stuff. It's really nice :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hopefully some DIY organization will come out of my craft room re-vamp!!! We shall have to wait and see!! Until then, go to YouTube and check out My Drunk Kitchen by Hannah Hart...you will not regret it! She is awesome!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Much love and happiness to everyone!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">XOXO</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Fair</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

There have been others before it such as the Loose Button boxes and Luxe Boxes.<br />
Essentially it is a box (or in this case a bag) that you receive monthly with samples or full size containers of high end products for you to try. You simply pay a monthly fee (the amount is different depending on which one you do) and they send you a new box/bag each month. The My Glam Bag is only $10 a month!<br />
<br />
I didn't try one for a long time until I heard about the My Glam one which was started by YouTube beauty gurus. I figured this one would for sure be worth a try, especially seeing as the samples or products you get are usually full size or a large sample. I missed the month of December because I wasn't signed up before the first of the month, so my first bag came as the January one which arrived today!!!<br />
<br />
My first impression.....love it!! There are a couple brands of products I haven't even heard of!!<br />
<br />
Here is what the bag contained: (I apologize for the not-so-good pictures, I was having lighting troubles and was unfortunately enough too in a hurry and lazy to try a different location and lighting to take the pictures...but you'll get the general idea :P)<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">First, an overview.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_Qum82pfeoyC6LSXW1BWsdt8uoSwYt2PVf7UoxsFTwQ5IVj6RjAj63KwEDdiljile1TJEr4RFKO7Xjtz09BNdOXSES-Q9Jf6At4zKFrwTyxsZc3VnRRJvJHpxGU9SZeolmEFgUWfUENA5/s1600/IMG_0691.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_Qum82pfeoyC6LSXW1BWsdt8uoSwYt2PVf7UoxsFTwQ5IVj6RjAj63KwEDdiljile1TJEr4RFKO7Xjtz09BNdOXSES-Q9Jf6At4zKFrwTyxsZc3VnRRJvJHpxGU9SZeolmEFgUWfUENA5/s320/IMG_0691.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The first thing is the bag the products come in. This little clutch (probably best use as a travel/purse makeup bag) alone could probably have a price tag of $10 in stores! So I for sure feel as though I got my money's worth in this bag! The bag is so cute! It is a canvas color with green decorating that says myglam in the top left corner and Back to Nature in the upper right corner. So cute!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuyi6bsCaKIAkHttvfplarxTDtYkEnDANaLt0aIwgFFxvtkYBD8c8KxKdh4pzgMFW7-WyrM1VaJHvCc5DoiCVLVF_037xMrbx1aio4jkZdL4lssyOC6pAiGH9rMeBubOpBGVBEYuu18h27/s1600/IMG_0693.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuyi6bsCaKIAkHttvfplarxTDtYkEnDANaLt0aIwgFFxvtkYBD8c8KxKdh4pzgMFW7-WyrM1VaJHvCc5DoiCVLVF_037xMrbx1aio4jkZdL4lssyOC6pAiGH9rMeBubOpBGVBEYuu18h27/s320/IMG_0693.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The first product in the bag (well..it was in the package with the bag because it is the full sized product so it doesn't fit in the bag :P) is a Freeman Facial Peel-Off Cucumber Mask. The card says it retails for $8 for the bottle, but I do believe I've seen it at Wal-Mart or CVS for a bit cheaper. But I have wanted to try this one for a while so I'm excited that this came in the MyGlam bag!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmIomUKupYzQAuUiwLxBTErL1YxzIpSy-23cy37p6nLaJ2dLFL9kj0v-ryczZo93Jg3XAvSty96bOnG3HO_PPoDq0e60SrSVf_ZJXrMB1CCQn5hkACxKbVEMzyz_RPKbXFPpKK5k-ytbjb/s1600/IMG_0703.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmIomUKupYzQAuUiwLxBTErL1YxzIpSy-23cy37p6nLaJ2dLFL9kj0v-ryczZo93Jg3XAvSty96bOnG3HO_PPoDq0e60SrSVf_ZJXrMB1CCQn5hkACxKbVEMzyz_RPKbXFPpKK5k-ytbjb/s320/IMG_0703.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Next is the Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner. I have heard about Wen products a lot and have been torn on if I've ever wanted to try them. On one hand I know they are supposed to be really nourishing for your hair, but on the other I have heard (from hairdressers as well) that it leaves the hair pretty oily...so I guess I will have to try it and see! This one is just a sample size of 2 fl oz. but the card says a full size 16 fl oz. bottle retails for $36.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRcEIApsGKvSho_lpN-s6BAWW0ULw1BC-8U7RYQvXCwPsM6gGh-1eNNHMQ1jE3dzaB8-RYQS7hK3S9CPQMAB1K3ioWnmnQxj-7_PPp-DC9BMHlADVuLfKTfbIG7Bh-52i9B_WkrNoetglM/s1600/IMG_0702.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRcEIApsGKvSho_lpN-s6BAWW0ULw1BC-8U7RYQvXCwPsM6gGh-1eNNHMQ1jE3dzaB8-RYQS7hK3S9CPQMAB1K3ioWnmnQxj-7_PPp-DC9BMHlADVuLfKTfbIG7Bh-52i9B_WkrNoetglM/s320/IMG_0702.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Next is the Sheer Cover Duo Concealer. I was really excited about this since I have been thinking about trying to find a concealer for my never ending dark circles from lack of sleep and stress. I have yet to try this but can't wait to see how well it works! I like that it came as the duo with a light and medium concealer to try to be more versatile for everyone that buys the MyGlam Bag. This one says it is a 0.10 oz container and the card says a .05 oz. container retails for $29.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji6KMJarxgX-WfNf18pijlE2APHQiLTzuLUd9duJyc9nG9lxPr1pv8odU8uddopmyd7I0nD3r0cAvnACBClw5L_Ep0cHRDfnC9KxygR6aGZPdpRL4JvArjl_-Sd4yMNu1l6JyqmeVkyWCB/s1600/IMG_0700.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji6KMJarxgX-WfNf18pijlE2APHQiLTzuLUd9duJyc9nG9lxPr1pv8odU8uddopmyd7I0nD3r0cAvnACBClw5L_Ep0cHRDfnC9KxygR6aGZPdpRL4JvArjl_-Sd4yMNu1l6JyqmeVkyWCB/s320/IMG_0700.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And finally we have the theBalm Cosmetics Shady Lady eyeshadow. This is a very pretty color!! The picture doesn't really show it correctly but it is sort of a champagne-y pink-y shimmery color. This is a full size product at .12 oz. which the card says retails for $16. Also, the card says "Shady lady can be used as a shadow or a liner to illuminate your eyes with color." So it's a two in one! Very exited to try this and the packaging is so cute!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpBtGd5EObDOcipxl5v_huKE0n2OkLLg-SsTe-wDq0EyaMKyNyjY2CwjLE9PAr2kMRe1tYui6x4RmDEn0hTqwVEzhtC_7QpoH6JZ05-xDTIX9RPyO22lmBDOXyGALIPJCHZyf_INd-J5PO/s1600/IMG_0696.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpBtGd5EObDOcipxl5v_huKE0n2OkLLg-SsTe-wDq0EyaMKyNyjY2CwjLE9PAr2kMRe1tYui6x4RmDEn0hTqwVEzhtC_7QpoH6JZ05-xDTIX9RPyO22lmBDOXyGALIPJCHZyf_INd-J5PO/s320/IMG_0696.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik2TaD_40FzIoaAqGmHaNmFfbXOJKPKSyiVw-qS6vJHgddztZx2wMOD8Rg3KLLgewleiE4BWNxUBTtRCrztAjySgKOewxA1bcarXBFeJjkbMmuftgBaO2BaHdC5px5MB4PeR0_EwFBlKdx/s1600/IMG_0695.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik2TaD_40FzIoaAqGmHaNmFfbXOJKPKSyiVw-qS6vJHgddztZx2wMOD8Rg3KLLgewleiE4BWNxUBTtRCrztAjySgKOewxA1bcarXBFeJjkbMmuftgBaO2BaHdC5px5MB4PeR0_EwFBlKdx/s320/IMG_0695.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
The other thing in the bag is the other cards. They are about the products in the bag and even include special offers and discounts for some of their items! Could be nice if I decide I want to repurchase any of the products!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For my first MyGlam Bag I am very impressed and pleased!! I feel as though I definitely got my moneys worth and can't wait to try the products!! I will definitely be sticking with this and posting the contents of my bag each month!!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">If you're interested go to www.myglam.com and sign up!!! If you decide you don't like it you can easily cancel your subscription at any time. Just remember that if you sign up after the first of the month, your first bag will arrive the next month.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Let me know if any of you sign up!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Love and kisses and hugs and such!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">XOXO</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Fair</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

The first of the projects I decided to try was the mason jar candle because I had everything except the mason jars.<br />
<br />
So off to the thrift store I went and I hit the mason jar motherload!! The first thrift store I went to had lots of mason jars for only 35 cents a piece!! Can NOT go wrong there!!!!<br />
<br />
So to begin, I filled one of the mason jars with bath salts (which I had already dyed with food coloring).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinO-ggOvlM73EuhBHM9BpsPstES68z-22wrG5k2L0VehDM_M9F7ZhjQsHn7D5tV7QAYB67j3TRe0T9VgRNAwpieAK85J1mLy5Th-46yRetFeibZA0kuL1NSagE5iOaYhH1lyQaufbFWt8O/s1600/IMG_0340%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinO-ggOvlM73EuhBHM9BpsPstES68z-22wrG5k2L0VehDM_M9F7ZhjQsHn7D5tV7QAYB67j3TRe0T9VgRNAwpieAK85J1mLy5Th-46yRetFeibZA0kuL1NSagE5iOaYhH1lyQaufbFWt8O/s320/IMG_0340%255B1%255D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">You could fill the jars with more if you wanted, this was just all the rest of the bath salts I had.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Then I used a cream colored yarn I found at Big Lots for $1.00. The best way I found to do this was to tie it around the lip of the jar and leave a long tail to use at the end.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtIbLmFIHXhGt6y1Vxk9rWYK34-X5x9yrNRbLdSfvERRC0gf-bpUgm3ICVsxQ7vpWHRO1ZFA5tzSr7I5uhVUExJmiQJnzvI_1-FPtEUw2t6hPl4ygDHx-HxBhRFUpbqu6VHXE6rN2FDMGl/s1600/IMG_0341%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtIbLmFIHXhGt6y1Vxk9rWYK34-X5x9yrNRbLdSfvERRC0gf-bpUgm3ICVsxQ7vpWHRO1ZFA5tzSr7I5uhVUExJmiQJnzvI_1-FPtEUw2t6hPl4ygDHx-HxBhRFUpbqu6VHXE6rN2FDMGl/s320/IMG_0341%255B1%255D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Then I wrapped...and wrapped...and wrapped to my little heart's content. Once I was satisfied with how much yarn I had wrapped around the top of the jar, I slid one of my skeleton keys onto the tail I left at the beginning of the yarn...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTj2WLrxRU55ScVgctykFw8IBvDaKtoBU6-5BofS61kWWUmtgGtahPiaouo2YkLUHHtE2XbuCYrTHyTfGrOlf25MXW1VMpVKejkWmKF-J1EJuwsVHRsSTLfkTHZq3yTgXbO5zYpUZfeS42/s1600/IMG_0342%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTj2WLrxRU55ScVgctykFw8IBvDaKtoBU6-5BofS61kWWUmtgGtahPiaouo2YkLUHHtE2XbuCYrTHyTfGrOlf25MXW1VMpVKejkWmKF-J1EJuwsVHRsSTLfkTHZq3yTgXbO5zYpUZfeS42/s320/IMG_0342%255B1%255D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Then I cut the yarn from the side I was wrapping with and tied the two ends together.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgay9QRKi0PA15QZnRZnhwl6HSdubir1g1sOhAdHTvn2mSBHlU0O5aezu8wbLWPBZVKFQBoqupxlkeqTFtQ3piMP3JnCL5kVSH1KU_aaPQtZBHRlL5u44E3d5CnF25KnpBDCzIYGZHHnsA-/s1600/IMG_0343%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgay9QRKi0PA15QZnRZnhwl6HSdubir1g1sOhAdHTvn2mSBHlU0O5aezu8wbLWPBZVKFQBoqupxlkeqTFtQ3piMP3JnCL5kVSH1KU_aaPQtZBHRlL5u44E3d5CnF25KnpBDCzIYGZHHnsA-/s320/IMG_0343%255B1%255D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The last step was to trim the ends to the length I wanted and add a tea light candle on top of the bath salts.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibMHiZvwW26-56jz3aj2BYN7CqP9pT8GpIdROvcpBpajqAQtdB7zFEeaHbFV2n9Kc3M5pMXTvr0U9XI5xVeBmz2V4lsx0U35AQw0ZMHlJ1U2NE1NyGiVGVSh9dTQYXVUZzyIZi-jCvybEN/s1600/IMG_0345%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibMHiZvwW26-56jz3aj2BYN7CqP9pT8GpIdROvcpBpajqAQtdB7zFEeaHbFV2n9Kc3M5pMXTvr0U9XI5xVeBmz2V4lsx0U35AQw0ZMHlJ1U2NE1NyGiVGVSh9dTQYXVUZzyIZi-jCvybEN/s320/IMG_0345%255B1%255D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Voila!!!! Tea light mason jar personalized candle!! Haha!!! I added it onto my shelf in my living room which contained some of my other vintage pieces and sits right below my skeleton key frame picture thing...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCpTMLWMfdyQeicir8zs6PNF7C99vnQapSvIfzZ7mKZQPy7NImhuRB8TFmgH-xTkiWCoVj3q34L9Y1yYkv552mWxtOcjQS3lKlyu8lrmi-Cnm1Ow08HHzeWwk7Up5ditXwGZiYXc5nBZcy/s1600/IMG_0349%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCpTMLWMfdyQeicir8zs6PNF7C99vnQapSvIfzZ7mKZQPy7NImhuRB8TFmgH-xTkiWCoVj3q34L9Y1yYkv552mWxtOcjQS3lKlyu8lrmi-Cnm1Ow08HHzeWwk7Up5ditXwGZiYXc5nBZcy/s320/IMG_0349%255B1%255D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I will definitely be making more of these for around my house and probably make some for gifts and such as well!! This was a really easy and cheap DIY project!! Definitely a good starter project for getting geared back into crafting!!! My next projects I'm hoping will be a poem scarf, a rose ball, and a canvas with a quote on it!!! If no other time I'm hoping this coming Sunday will be another good crafting/DIYing day!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

It is official! I have sunken into the dark world of Pinterest and am forever caught in it's stealthy grasp! Hahah!! I finally went to check out what all the hype was about with this Pinterest thing....and oh my goodness!!!! So many ideas and so many things I want to try!! Some are easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy, but some are much bigger projects.<br />
<br />
The major ones I really want to do:<br />
A DIY poem scarf<br />
Paint/design my shoe racks and area<br />
Revamp my laundry "area" by adding a shelf and some decor<br />
DIY mason jar candles/decor<br />
Some DIY canvas wall decor<br />
DIY chalkboards and chalkboard decor<br />
DIY homeopathic hot pack<br />
<br />
<br />
The list goes on and on!!!! I have a huge itch to go thrifting to see if I can find any fun pieces to use as decor since I am FINALLY getting my decor up and running! I'm also excited for summer season...a.k.a. garbage sale season!!! I had some pretty good luck last summer, especially with old picture frames for cheap, so I'm hoping next year will be the same if not better! And until then, to the thrift stores I go!<br />
I also started a "movie corner" where I put my new DVD shelves so I'm going to try to find some fun vintage-y things to go in the corner, but am also going to go to Hobby Lobby to see if I can find anything fun for it as well :)<br />
I have found some of the cutest ideas to try for some DIY furniture revamps as well so I'm hoping I will get to try a couple of those! :D<br />
<br />
And as soon as the weather gets nice again, I have so many different photo shoots I want to try!!! There are a couple indoor ones I know I want to try (and I know I've been saying this over and over again, but a girl gets dang busy!) so I'm hoping to try those while I'm waiting for the warmer season to grace us again!<br />
<br />
Any DIY projects and the like I try will for sure be going up on here! And possibly a video of some of them, depending....<br />
<br />
Well I hope everyone is having a wonderful 2012 so far!!<br />
Much love!<br />
XOXO<br />

<br />
I had this wine rack that I bought at a garage sale I believe quite a while ago.<br />

</div>FairWrenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06493576900639956466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726886473285856161.post-13844510762053120122012-01-03T13:44:00.000-06:002012-01-03T13:44:14.562-06:00It's 2012!!!I cannot believe it is already 2012!!! 2011 went by so fast!!! I am very excited to start out a new year though!! I'm hoping some of the things I've really been wanting to do (actually do a video once every 2 weeks, do more photo shoots, actually eat healthy and exercise, keep up with housework on a more regular basis) actually get accomplished this year!! Fingers crossed! :D<br />
<br />
I was also doing so well on blog updates and then all of a sudden the holidays hit and I got cast in a play and my social life got sucked away haha! As much as I love the holidays and love spending time with friends and family, I am glad that they are over for another year...Sad to say maybe, but true. They came, they were awesome, they are done, they will be back before we know it! :)<br />
So aside from that, rehearsals have been keeping me a busy, busy gal!! This is my first play with Dakota Stage so it is interesting to learn a new style of directing. And so far, I love it! Not that I didn't like how previous directors handle their shows because they did just as good of a job! But it's nice to get a different experience. The show so far is moving along really fast and very smoothly! The entire cast is amazing, great to work with and so helpful and nice! That always makes a show just so much easier and smoother! I'm so excited to be performing again!<br />
<br />
I have been working on getting another high heel shoot done, but with no current indoor location and the weather being a bit chillier than can be handled in shorts or a skirt for the models, I've been extremely limited...I really want to try yet to find a library that will allow me to do some photos, but also have not had the time to call around and see if they would let me. Hopefully that can happen soon! That is one of the only places I can think of right now to do an indoor heel shoot. The other place I would like to try that will be a bit more plausible is the theater in which we are doing the play. I'm thinking I could get some fun stuff in there and I'm hoping I can get a couple gals to just come to Dakota Stage with me before rehearsal some night to catch a few shots. Also I would like to get some in the Belle Mehus theater, but that one maybe be a bit more tricky to do considering I have no idea when they would be open or anything, but I do plan to call sometime and see if they would let me!! Here's to hoping!!!<br />
<br />
I have also been planning my birthday extravaganza!!! I am very, very sad that I will not be able to go to Las Vegas like I originally wanted too, but have instead decided on a trip to the cities (Minneapolis) will suffice and probably be about half the cost! Can't compete with that!! Also I'm hoping it will be a little bit more attainable for other people so more people can join me if they want! More to come on that later!!<br />
<br />
One final thing...I went on a random mini shopping trip yesterday and wound up in Victoria's Secret while they have their Semi-Annual Sale in progress and got some of the cutest things!!! One of them was a really fantastic bra, but I didn't think it would be fully kosher to post a picture of my new bra on here...so I'll just leave it to the imagination, haha! ;) But the other things I did find...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_-4djNy0JiYnWu7pWZePZD7Ml7p6kbHwYuqM0U2Dw_aIO7ds72hPCQzzzPUO3ej9wwwP4NMxP_4gQJ-1QwjKlMBWCFssBIGw4qN0KaXUuGKIyDSlXE7Tf8z7K8PF7ucxUA0oLWTmaG-7m/s1600/IMG_0664.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_-4djNy0JiYnWu7pWZePZD7Ml7p6kbHwYuqM0U2Dw_aIO7ds72hPCQzzzPUO3ej9wwwP4NMxP_4gQJ-1QwjKlMBWCFssBIGw4qN0KaXUuGKIyDSlXE7Tf8z7K8PF7ucxUA0oLWTmaG-7m/s320/IMG_0664.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

I could not resist when I saw the case it came in! The black portion is 3-D and the colors are fantastic!!! I absolutely love it already! After the discount I got this for $13!! The shadows are really great and really pigmented and the amount you get (as far as I can tell before I've hit the pan) is very sufficient for the price I paid!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJGKxSxz0x_t13kLeuGWf49eJV7rZwKjy1mToPEtpV-6l9wEp5I2LjXfvf70bxM_1m3KYfnsFZItA96QVw4wY6cHc2GH9snwtvNalr2jd-4hRQKCNqihUzoXtqVmJnoUCi0lD9IV-QeMqs/s1600/IMG_0674.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJGKxSxz0x_t13kLeuGWf49eJV7rZwKjy1mToPEtpV-6l9wEp5I2LjXfvf70bxM_1m3KYfnsFZItA96QVw4wY6cHc2GH9snwtvNalr2jd-4hRQKCNqihUzoXtqVmJnoUCi0lD9IV-QeMqs/s320/IMG_0674.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWM5e3ZtuhpJ8GCB6sXsCAsMzGiQUrJZzzS2ooyUt8Ejl2Zfo_gCfnmgmrlcxt6i9dEiQujg6ZnsUcQAObRmPhF-7KzdrLJ6v2XQjnFruFsklllmnYzvkkwGUUnERAHCDukceiU9h5FYKE/s1600/IMG_0675.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWM5e3ZtuhpJ8GCB6sXsCAsMzGiQUrJZzzS2ooyUt8Ejl2Zfo_gCfnmgmrlcxt6i9dEiQujg6ZnsUcQAObRmPhF-7KzdrLJ6v2XQjnFruFsklllmnYzvkkwGUUnERAHCDukceiU9h5FYKE/s320/IMG_0675.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>Second is this cute little highlighter blush (so it is called). It's almost like a highlight and a blush in one, however I did find that it is much more of a highlight, but it is gorgeous!! Again very pigmented and after the discount I only paid $8 for this! And again this seems like it will last me quite a long time and I love the packaging!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCHV-V3qBiA16u4OJIe_3MSZjSXZYH8neRBZWL4v3FAkUr0DoYzDxr7WmZKHVkJZocXqAJwBpT4jMaDpnOn0UYSaWMMyJ3j5dmweA8ydDSBoGUM1sUaKY6tAU7S7ilhEn6CGh_TGMRscXH/s1600/IMG_0677.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCHV-V3qBiA16u4OJIe_3MSZjSXZYH8neRBZWL4v3FAkUr0DoYzDxr7WmZKHVkJZocXqAJwBpT4jMaDpnOn0UYSaWMMyJ3j5dmweA8ydDSBoGUM1sUaKY6tAU7S7ilhEn6CGh_TGMRscXH/s320/IMG_0677.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>And last was this little perfume. I was hoping to find a bigger bottle of perfume that I really liked since they were 50%-75% off, but all I found was this little one. It smells amazing though! It's like a berry type of perfume. Not too overpowering, not like a grandma perfume, but not too sweet either! I love it! I believe this one was $7.50 after the discount.<br />
<br />
I just had to share! The Semi-Annual Sale is still going on and they had quite a large stock of things when I was there!!!! They have of course all lot more lingerie on sale a TONS of perfumes and makeup!!! Personally, it's work a look!!!<br />
<br />
I hope everyone's holidays and New Years went as well as mine did!!!! Here's to 2012 and hoping it's everything we are all hoping for and much much more!!!!!<br />
Much love everyone!!!<br />
XOXO<br />

We are doing a Friday evening performance, a Saturday matinee and evening performance, and then a Sunday matinee. As much as I have so far enjoyed doing the Nutcracker again and I enjoy the adults and children I am working with, I will be glad when it is done. I am SO incredibly far behind on everything else right now and have no time to accomplish anything because of rehearsal every night for the Nutcracker, but it is definitely proving to be one of the absolute best performances of the Nutcracker I have yet to see!<div><br />
</div><div>Aside from that, the Office Manager at the office of my full time job (Yes...that would be my mom ;) ) is leaving tomorrow to go to Denver to see her brother and nephews for the weekend so things at work are going to be crazy busy as well since she won't be in again until Tuesday afternoon. Ahh!! Crazy week!!!</div><div>As always, I'm taking things one step at a time and just working through everything day by day, hour by hour. So far, I haven't lost it, haha!!!</div><div><br />
</div><div>Friday I will know about the auditions for "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". I am most definitely not expecting a part because of all the other absolutely amazing actresses that auditioned, and I'm ok with that. If I do not get a part then I'm simply going to move on to the next one! I would really love to audition for the next show so it's not like if I don't get a part in this one I can't go for the next show! :)</div><div><br />
</div><div>Aside from that, I've gotten some positive feedback from the first poem I put up so I'll probably try to put up a couple more sometime soon and see how those go as well :)</div><div><br />
</div><div>I am going to be doing some more pictures this weekend hopefully for a friend so I'm looking forward to that and I am also looking forward to a DIY gift idea I found from another blogger/YouTuber and I CAN'T WAIT to try it and give it to some of my friends as small Xmas gifts!!! :D</div><div><br />
</div><div>Thank you to everyone so far who has supported me in my poetry and such! I appreciate every bit!!</div><div><br />
</div><div>Hope all is well with everyone!!!</div><div><br />
</div><div>XOXO</div><div>Fair</div>FairWrenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06493576900639956466noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726886473285856161.post-8090785627762512852011-12-05T10:01:00.000-06:002011-12-05T10:01:30.367-06:00Poem #1Here it is....the first poem I'm putting out there for careful determination and examination.<br />
I'm still unsure if this is the right one to put out there first, but I suppose I have to start somewhere, right?<br />
I am looking for honest feedback. I know the poem is probably not going to come across the same as it does in my mind, but I suppose that's the thing about poetry. It's put down on paper and read by others to create a sense of finding one's self in another's words.<br />
It is one of my shorter poems, but I don't think the length of a poem is what really matters, its the message it sends and how it is received.<br />
So give me honest feedback and let me know if you want to read more.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<u>Shadows on My Wall</u><br />
When late nights bleed to early mornings,<br />
Infinity leaves its barren eternity<br />
To sneak out into the ebony hallway<br />
And play with the lost souls.<br />
It is in this state of forgetfulness that<br />
The sun shines as<br />
The rain washes away reality.<br />

I think I did alright. There were a few that I definitely thought were way better than me and I don't really think I have a whole lot of chance for the part I want (Nurse Ratched) but I think my audition was good and I at least maybe sort of have a fighting chance for it. :P Either way, I would even take one of the smaller parts just to get back into theater again! I miss it a lot! And if I don't get a part in this play (especially considering there are only 4 female parts and 7 girls auditioned already tonight let alone however many show up tomorrow night) then I will definitely be auditioning for the next show they do!<br />
I guess we will see!!<br />
This week is going to be crazy busy!!! I have Nutcracker rehearsals all week since we perform this weekend so I'm going to be up to my ears in ballet and silent acting, haha! I'm glad they called and asked me to do it, but I will definitely be glad when it is done. I do get to dress up in a big dress with a crazy hoop skirt, so its definitely fun! :)<br />
After the Nutcracker is over, if I don't get a part in the play, I will be focusing on videos and scrapbooking I think. Nothing too crazy, but I did start to try to film a few videos so hopefully this week if nothing else I can take my laptop with me and edit them while I'm waiting at rehearsals and then I can get one or maybe two videos up this week! They were nothing special and I do want to film a new, different hairstyle to post, so I'm going to try to get that filmed this week sometime as well. And one video I really want to do is me getting ready for the Nutcracker, hair and makeup and at least a couple pictures if not a short video in my dress! Just for fun! :)<br />
I'm also probably going to post my first poem tomorrow, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed to get some good feedback and to know what people honestly think of it. Either way I'm excited to see what the reaction is and such! :)<br />
Well, I hope everyone's day/week/month/year is going fantastically!<br />
Much love to everyone!<br />
XOXO<br />

A big shout out to my friend Ben for fixing it for me!!!! I am so glad I have such amazing friends!!! It took forever because my hard drive is what got affected so he had to let it run for pretty much a month straight at least to try to recover some of my pictures. I got lucky enough that I had already saved most of them to an external hard drive so I didn't really lose much, but listen to me, everyone, when I say: Back up your info!!!! I would have been devastated if I had lost all my pictures!!! From now on, all my pictures not only go onto my computer, but onto my external hard drive as well right away!<br />
<br />
So, now that I have my personal computer back, I REALLY want to do like 10 videos right away! I enjoyed doing them and miss it and hope to get caught up! Also, even though winter has officially hit us here in good ol' ND, I really want to do another heel shoot soon. I'm hoping to figure out a place inside to do another shoot. I would love to do one outside in the snow, but I want it to be a really good snow fall before I do it. We will see if that even really happens or not, but for now if anyone has any fun ideas for a heel shoot at an indoor location in which I would be allowed to do some photos please let me know!! I still would love to find a library that would allow me to do a photo shoot in it, but we will see if I can find one that will.<br />
There is a building in Mandan that used to be the library that has a spiral staircase in it that I would LOVE to use to do some pictures on, heel and model, but I have no clue what the building is now and if the staircase is even still in it or not. I'm hoping to find out soon!!!<br />
<br />
Also, I did find that a few people seemed interested in giving me some feedback on my poetry so in the next day or so I'm going to pick out on of my poems and post it for feedback and such. Fingers crossed! :D If it goes well I will continue posting poems, if not, oh well. We will see! :)<br />
<br />
I hope everyone's holiday season is going well so far!! Drew and I have our Christmas tree and a few other decorations up and I already have almost all of my Christmas shopping done!!! Just a few more odds and ends to finish up and I will be good to go!! I'm so excited for Christmas this year! It is the first year that Drew and I are having a real Christmas together in which he is here instead of working out in the oil fields and we will get to do all the family stuff together and such, so I'm excited for that! And I'm actually ok with the snow for right now. Personally, Christmas just wouldn't be the same without snow :) And it's winter in ND....if we didn't at least like the snow a little bit, then we shouldn't live here!!!<br />
<br />
So good luck to everyone with getting their Christmas shopping done early and without too much of a hassle!!<br />
<br />

For the longest time I have wanted to go back through my poetry and refine some of them and see if I could possibly get a book of them published. What I am looking for is feedback from people that will be honest with me.<br />
<br />
So...If I were to put my poems up on this blog, say one a week or so, is there anyone that would be willing to give me some feedback and let me know what you think about the whole idea?<br />
<br />
It's something I'm still throwing around because not many people have read my poetry and it makes me nervous to put something so personal and "naked" out there for basically anyone to read. It's something that if I decide to keep a bit closer to home I may also just post on Facebook so only the people I have on there can read it. Like I said...it makes me nervous. My poetry is something I have always fallen back on to let emotions and thoughts out and to express myself without judgement because I never imagined anyone would ever read it. But its a piece of me in an art form that I think some people might enjoy...<br />
<br />
I used to really enjoy going to open mic nights, even if I never got up and did anything, but just to sit and listen and watch different art forms and such....I really miss it and wish there was still something like that around here...I would love to start one up but I'm not sure how to go about doing it so...maybe this will be something good for me to do :)<br />
<br />
The only other thing that would worry me about it, is I don't want anyone trying to steal my work. No, I don't really think any of it is going to be good enough to make someone want to claim it as their own...but I also don't know if I really want to risk that. These are little pieces of me and I want them to stay that way, not have someone else use them as if they are their own...which makes it difficult that I don't technically have any of them copyrighted or published or what have you.<br />
<br />
If anyone has any feedback for me I would love to hear what you think! Makes me nervous just thinking about it!! As I said....it's something I think I would really like to do....but something that half of me wonders if it's the correct thing to do or not...<br />
<br />
Until next time, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!<br />
XOXO<br />

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I can't wait for the delicious meal, family time and poker!!! Hahaha, yes, we like to play a game of poker after our Thanksgiving dinner so long as everyone hasn't passed out on the couches, chairs and floor from too much turkey! Haha!<br />
<br />
It makes me sad that Thanksgiving tends to get looked over because people pass it by for Christmas. Don't get me wrong, Christmas is one of my absolute favorite holidays....but it has it's time and place, just as Thanksgiving should. There are far too many people and stores with their Christmas decorations out on display. I understand that around good ol' ND the weather gets pretty crappy around this time of year so some people want to get their outside decorations hung up before it is below 0 outside....but at least wait until the Friday after Thanksgiving!!! Get up at 2 A.M. do your crazy Black Friday shopping, and come back and have a family day of decorating and hot cocoa!!!!! That is my plan anyway! It makes me sad for Thanksgiving that not enough people appreciate it for what it is. I'm hoping to make an attempt at making a pumpkin pie from scratch again this year. I did about 3 years ago and it worked...but not as well as I had hoped, so this year will be the next test!!!<br />
<br />
I am of course overly excited for Christmas this year as well!! This afternoon I'm going to be heading out to get about 75% of my Christmas shopping accomplished!!! I'm glad that for once I will have my shopping done early instead of doing it all a week before Christmas. The Christmas tree just looks so much prettier and more fun with all the presents underneath it. :)<br />
<br />
I hope everyone has an amazing and safe Thanksgiving!!! I know the roads up here have already gotten pretty bad and I've seen pictures of some pretty bad accidents so drive safe people!!!!! If you are in ND and have never driven through the ice and snow before....SLOW DOWN!!!!!! Ice + snow + roads = bad driving conditions!!! You will slide all over the road and get into an accident if you don't take precautions!!! So be careful!!!!<br />
<br />
Hope everyone is well and loved!!!!<br />
XOXO<br />
